I have been in the soul eater fandom happily for years, shipping multiple ships both popular and unpopular with no problems, but it was only when I joined tumblr that I found numerous amounts of shitty, immature fans who are disrespectful to others. It is a problem, but people need to stop blaming particular groups and stuff because you're all just as bad as each other. Everyone needs to chill out. Just stop the hating and complaining and have fun.

well i don't think that people need to stop blaming because if theres a problem with one group in particular then yes it's on them in a wayive been in the soul eater fandom for years on tumblr and i can say right now that there's a fair amount of heteronormativity and homophobia. depending on which part of the fandom you find, it might not be a safe place for people who are lgbtqia+ I've seen people get harrased in this fandom for so many things and usually it's the same kind of people who do the harassing and if you get harrased, yes blame them. report them and block them too, don't tolerare harassment and don't think you're "as bad" as them for saying anything about it
