he also LOVES when humans name things so that the name is the thing. like how a "clothes line" is a line that holds clothes. it absolutely delights him

he's a story teller by trade and a tall-tale teller at heart

he has determined that "uncle" is a human term of respect, therefore you may refer to him as "uncle enki" if you wish

@soulsbelow WINTERFES THEMED (except not really. They're just prepping for celebrating the holiday spirit as ROOMMIES!)

"ENKI! LOOK!" The excitable boy nearly trips as he runs over to the god! He's wrapped in an assortment of holiday lights that light up one by one and then all together. If that wasn't enough, he also has ornaments decorating his auburn hair.

"I'm a Christmas tree! They say you decorate them with lights and these little thingies! Isn't that cool? We should get one!" This Festival also had a lot of interesting activities, and the smell surrounding each ward was ENTICING. He wanted to check them all.

"Hey, You said you're not good with the cold, right? Maybe we can get you one of those?" His eyes had wandered just briefly in the store when he came across....outfits for different-sized animals.

Enki's nervous intake of breath is let out as a relieved sigh as the boy trips and catches himself. He wonders why it's in moment like these that he suddenly feels his many years weigh on him.

"I must take your word for it I am afraid as I am unfamiliar with the type of tree you describe. If they are as festal as your appearance leads me to believe, I think I would very much like one too." He looks at the bright lights adorning his friend warmly before turning his gaze towards the similarly festive sweaters.

"The desert nights are cold, but the icy sand that is 'snow' permeates one's feathers in a uniquely uncomfortable way." Enki's ears droop for a moment but prick up just as quickly. There are more types of garb here than he's previously seen all in one place. There are colorful garish sweaters, ones that light up in the style of Oliver's outfit, and even ones where there is a larger matching sweater so that humans can coordinate with their... 'furbabies'. Enki has no fur and he is not a baby, but he would very much like a layer of protective clothing adorned in bright hues like a human might wear.

"The choices here are varied indeed. What would be appropriate for one such as myself to wear?" He nods to the similarly colored 'pet booties' stocked next to the sweaters and glances at his bare and un-feathered paws. "Do you think those would be useful as well?"

The morning dew has frosted over and she moves from her nest. Her movements only strange in that way that is strange for one who is bipedal to walk on all fours, chains clinking against the cuffs binding her wrists as she approaches the creature.

Foxes live in these forests, she remembers the name, although the creatures still feel unfamiliar to her in the way that being awake feels unfamiliar. But this one has a coat of slinky black, and eyes that betray intelligence in the same way her own golden irises betray her nature.

"Have you always been meat?" She asks, approaching the thing, bare hands and feet slick with quickly melting frost.

"You do not look like meat."

The god of death knows every human. There is no soul past whose story he has not heard... and so sadly, no inhumanity he has not witnessed. The depersonalization of prisoners is no worse than many other sins, but it's the empathy he feels towards them that makes it seem this way.

Enki leans his head forward sympathetically towards the person who is acting less like a person and delicately sniffs at her chains before pulling back and tilting his head to one side.

"Every form is inconstant. I have not always been this... in the same way that these trees were once ash, perhaps even more so. Not even gods are immune to the mercurial nature of time. Still, I feel I must apologize. Seeing as how I am more ash than tree at the moment, I am able to neither free you from your chains nor the shackles of your past life." Enki sits on the forest floor, tail wiping away the frost as it curls around him.

"And yet, if you would still like to unburden your soul by telling me your story, I would be content to perform that part of my duty." It was always that part he enjoyed the most, even if the stories always ended in the same tragic way. "If not, may I offer a piece of advice? It might be hard to connect with the other souls here if you continue to refer to them solely as 'meat'."

"Wow I never thought I'd see the day. A stray in a city like this actually putting up a fight, and winning on both fronts~~!"

Their competition was some kind of fox creature, something that looked like a more demented version of her mask. But even then free enjoyment didn't often show up right in front of Sparkle and she'd be a fool (quite literally) not to savor the moment.

"Come on you gonna let yourself get beat up by a lil' feline like that? Put a bit of your backbone into it grandpa! Don't want an embarrassing defeat now do you?"

"Grandpa?" Enki turns around and looks at the woman's face appraisingly. The mask rings familiar but he knows he's never seen this person before in his long life. "I would very well remember having a kit as impudent as you."

While Enki is distracted, the stray leaps at him. Enki barely manages to avoid the cat, but yelps as their claws shear off a few feathers on his rump. He ducks behind the woman's legs, putting her bodily between the cat and himself, pinning his ears back.

"Clearly this unintelligent, irreverent creature knows not whom they challenge, and I am not so cruel as hand down prejudiced punishment to those weaker! Won't you help me spare this creature's life, whippersnapper?"

Enki's head pops out of the bushes, nose and large ears twitching.

Normally, he makes a point of avoiding trainers (why do they always throw things at him?) but whatever this group is dining on smells delicious and Enki hasn't eaten all day.

Ignoring the trainer for now, Enki turns to the Pokemon closest to him --a Riolu-- and looks at them beseechingly.

"Ki? Enki?" He says, imploringly, hoping they'll share some of their food with him.

"gods don't...," he stops himself though and cocks his head. Well, if angels existed then SURELY gods did too right? It only made sense, didn't it? Were they foxes though? or maybe they were gods who could shapeshift.

"You're a funny god then," he ends up saying with an amused smile. "I'm Oliver! I'm like an upgraded human so my nose can pick up ALL kinds of smell~!"

"Funny?" For a moment Enki looks offended, but then his tail thumps the ground once before he shows his teeth - his attempt at returning Oliver's smile. After all, 'funny' was a positive word, yes?

"There are many types of gods... but if you say this is true, than it must be so."

"'Upgraded?' I am unfamiliar with this term when applied to humans. Are humans able to upgrade themselves as they might a musket or a furnace?" Enki sticks his pointed nose closer, sniffing Oliver curiously.

Tilting his head from side to side curiously, Enki watches the piece of fabric in the man's hands grow bigger, his tail thumping the ground in excitement. Watching the wooden sticks being moved in such a way so that the yarn was woven between them was a unique treat for the god; a chance to watch human ingenuity at work.

"Fascinating! Is this how all clothing is created?" He leans in closer, ears perked.

"What will it be? How long will it take to finish an entire piece?"

his favorite moves are Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Claw, Will-O-Wisp, Shadow Ball, Giga Drain, and Hyper Beam

can be encountered much like Latias/Latios, randomly flying throughout the city

can't talk, can only say "ENKI ENKI ENKI ENKI ENKI ENKI"

pokemon trainers, feel free to try and catch him! but he is a legendary, so expect a fight! (but it would be soooooo funny if he was caught)

if you'd rather befriend him, he likes bluk berries, kasib berries, and crab meat!

The metal cart continues its awful wailing noise and Enki pins his ears back against his head and sinks to the ground across the street. The humans passing by give the cart an annoyed look as they walk by, seemly used to this sort of thing. Stopping one such passerby he howls in an attempt to be heard over the damned racket.

"Why does it continue to shriek like that?!"

Finally seeing a someone walking these mostly empty backstreets, Enki turns and makes a beeline for them, carrying his precious cargo in his mouth. Trotting up to the human, he carefully places his burden - a scraggly looking white pup - at the man's feet before clearing his throat politely.

"Excuse me, do you know where one might find the nearest physician? This animal appears to be malnourished and injured."

Enki sinks to his belly to get a better look at the flowers (he believes they're called 'mums'?). He looks on forlornly as another bloom is carefully placed into the earth in front of him. Looking up, he happens to catch the eye of the gardener and he can't seem to help the sorrowful whine that escapes him.

"Please do not mind me. I am afraid I would ruin all of your hard work were I to make any attempts at helping. I only wish to observe and learn, if that is amenable to you."

Giving an excited little yip, Enki bounces a little against the black elastic floor. It pales in comparison to flying, but he can see why the earthbound humans like it... It's surprisingly amusing.

Looking up, he watches a group of little humans jump off a rather tall ledge into an area filled with soft foam, but is quickly distracted by one of the only adult humans in the place.

"I don't think that is a good idea." He says to the human, disapproval and judgement clear in his voice.

"Such insolence!" Enki jumps back to avoid yet another swipe from an overly aggressive stray cat, bristling and fanning out his tail in response.

"This," he barely manages to dodge another attack, "is no way to treat a god!" The cat pounces at him, landing in the place he was just a second ago and hisses. Enki growls back.

Starter call for the little god! Uncapped for now but probably hopefully short

"MMMMMMHM!" The young boy nods at the creature's question. The smell was potent. That antichrist or whatever really did leave such a strong smell behind. "The other one is from a fairy--THEY'RE REAL you know!" He refuses to have anyone say they weren't. Who knows, it may affect Peri even if he wasn't here!

"But you have a smell too. I don't recognize it though."

"Is that so? How Interesting!" Enki seems to be unaware of how his feet tap rapidly on the ground and he chitters excitedly.

"A shame they seem to have left, I would have very much liked to have heard some of their stories. You have a good nose, for a human. Though, it's no surprise you don't recognize my scent." The little creature puffs out his downy chest importantly and fans his tail feathers behind him for good measure.

"What you smell is the unmistakably divine scent of a god. My name is Enki."

Oh, he's got a new roommate!

"At least the place doesn't smell weird anymore." Yeah, something sweet like cotton candy and something rotten like death didn't mix well together. AT ALL.

"Is that what I've been smelling?"

Enki sneezes and rubs his foreleg against his lupine snout before cocking his head to the side and staring up at the human inquisitively.

"I am very familiar with the scent of the dead, but what is this other smell?"
