I wanted to do my own promptober, but since it’s my first time and I have a busy schedule, I will be going by weeks instead of by days.
I don’t know much about prompt months, but my personal rules are that I must have one finished drawing per week for each of the 5 weeks of October. Each fandom and type of au may only be used once, no repeats.

I don't understand how so many people left Teal Mask with the impression that Carmine is a horrible monster who hates her brother? She clearly loves the little shit.
When the mask festival rolls around, she's visibly thrown that he wants to go to it with you instead of just his big sister, and when there's only two masks to go around, she refuses to either give you hers or let him give up his. Because she wants to have fun with him at the mask festival!!
She's constantly worrying about him when we talk to her. Even when she lies to him, it's explicitly because she doesn't want him to feel like he missed out on something. She mishandles the whole situation, but I fear that this is not indicative of her being a monster, but rather of her being like 16.

I think the most important lesson that no major studio is going to learn from Iron Lung is that if you're going to adapt a video game to another medium you have to love it.
There is no substitute for passion. If you do not love the source material there is no amount of budget that you can throw at the project that will give it a soul. You have to love it. If you don't love it you've lost before you've even begun, you cannot conceal the lack of soul with any amount of money.

Something else good to come of Iron Lung is the renewed care for Laika. She deserves it. I just learned about her and the cat. The patron saint of one way trips, and of returning transformed. Felicette and Laika
(The cat was sent up with brain implants, lived, and later was killed to study its brain. Very sad but I do understand why. Though I wouldn't condone that with our now technology)

I'm loving the increase of Laika and Simon fan art I've been seeing as of recent.
I never thought I'd be crying over a dog who was once sent to space and a fictional man trapped in a submarine stuck at the bottom of a blood ocean. But here I am.
i respect constructive criticism and enjoy critically enjoying things, its my favorite thing in the world to complain you must understand this. however I will not take any opinions on "iron lung being too slow/long" seriously in the slightest. you don't understand pacing at all and you need to watch more movies that intend to make you slow down + think and im not kidding. i can and will die on this hill
the concept of laika the dog and simon the convict from iron lung being drawn together as the patron saints of one way trips is so unbelievably bittersweet. i saw the film i get it but also. henry passed during production and i think mark would find it very sweet that people have given the film character a dog as a parallel, almost like a partner. thinking about laika too hard makes me cry she deserved so much better than being sent up with no plan for landing her shuttle or even retrieving it.
no one deserves to be left behind to die in the name of advancement.
