āThere was a time when you knew me better than anyone on earth,ā Sousuke reminds both himself and Rin. Then, for their combined benefit: āClearly that time has passed.ā
Rin laughs at him, wicked and confident. āWhatever you need to tell yourself.ā His expression softens, a poisonous flower of pity. āIt must be hard to cope with lying to everyone for years and still being so bad at it.ā
Sousuke disarms him with one mere half-smile. āYouāre not going to make me mad enough to fuck you, Rin. Save it for the men that donāt know you.ā
Rin looks angry enough to do something far worse than break Sousukeās heart all over again, but Sousuke doesnāt cower. Itās not that Rin is all bark and no bite; he can keep his teeth dug in someone for years and Sousuke is living proof of that.
However, time has passed. No matter how badly Sousuke tried to cling to the memories, he had no choice but to move on.
Sousuke says, āYouāve lost your advantages over me and you have lost your mind if you think Iām going to let you go on a tirade with no consequences.ā His nostrils flare. āJust because I want Gouās wedding to work out does not mean I will placate you. I didnāt do it when we were younger and I wonāt do it now.ā
Heād planned on maintaining all the control in this confrontation but of course, he can never anticipate Rin. Sousuke didnāt prepare for the worst possible outcome of this moment: Rin listening. Rin, flushed with rage and tightened fists, not denying the accusation in Sousukeās tone.
Rin always thought worse of himself than anyone else could. Sousuke wants to curse the universe - why did that have to be the thing that never changed?
It makes Sousuke falter and Rin gives him a challenging once-over. Rin sighs, āI see youāre still masquerading as the reasonable one.ā He checks his nails with an unimpressed shake of his head. āIt makes me fucking sick.ā
āIām not playing these games,ā Sousuke says firmly.
Rin chuckles. āDo you think Iām joking, baby?ā He smiles languidly, hair catching at the side of his lips, and something burns through Sousuke. He tries to call it hate but thatās not what it is; his body only reacted like this when Rin was giving him that same daring smile while riding him into the mattress.
Sousuke feels light-headed in the surge of memories, of feeling so wanted as Rinās body cinched tight around him from within. Iām so easy for you, Rin would slur as Sousuke fucked him open, pounding pleasure into every vein of him. Iām so fucking easy for you, you could have anything from me -
Sousuke stalks into him and Rinās hips hit the counter with a grunt. With his hands clenching the marble on either side of Rin, Sousuke grits, āIām not doing this. Not with you and that god-awful attitude I just wannaā¦ā He swallows thickly.
Their eyes lock. One of Sousukeās legs is tangled between Rinās knees. Their fingers brush on the counter, their skin hot. He feels Rinās hardened nipples when their chests graze. Sousukeās teeth ache, he salivates.
Rin says, āYou just wanna what?ā He lifts his chin and some hair slips from his ponytail. It looks so satiny, smells like cherry blossoms. Sousuke wants to bury his fingers in it and tug the way Rin always liked, then he wants to rest his nose there afterwards. āSay it, Sousukeā¦ā
Fuck. Rin is so exaggerated with the syllables, taking as much time as he wants with Sousukeās name in his mouth.
Sousukeās lips part and Rin watches his tongue. āIt doesnāt matter, Rin.ā
Rin notices the way Sousuke cannot escape the emotion of speaking his name.
āYes it does,ā Rin retorts. Heās got so much energy to argue, meanwhile Sousukeās legs are wavering. How he misses sinking to his knees and letting the day go with Rin buried in his throat. Itās almost impossible to resist the urge right now with Rinās voice getting warm and heavy. āAre you threatening me with harm or a good time?ā A tremble of anticipation ricochets in Rinās chest. āBoth?ā
The air tingles. His breath fans Sousukeās lips and it would be so easy to melt in his arms. Rinās never been afraid to get in his face and nobody has been so brave ever since. At any point throughout these lonely years, Sousuke would have let him close. It wouldnāt have mattered what life he settled into; no loyalty could conquer his addiction to this.
āIād never make it that easy for you,ā Sousuke says mockingly. His tone leaves chills on Rinās arms, his throat contracting. āBut Iāll tell you one thing, sweetheart.ā
He isnāt sure which one of them dips forward just a little. Neither move back.
Their foreheads brush as Sousuke looks into his eyes and whispers, āYou need to think long and hard about what you want - because if you want me, youāre not getting casual and youāre not getting back what we were. Too much has changed. Itāll have to beā¦ something new.āHe takes a breath, their noses grazing. Rin nuzzles him like he canāt resist and Sousukeās hands shake on the counter. He fights to get the last words out as their open mouths brush. āIām telling you now Rin, if you ever let me inside you again, not a thing in the world will get me out.ā
