Do you guys like pineapples?

Spikeless variety created in Brazil, "Gomo de mel", it has genetic related to the Japanese pineapple that you can splice it off in pieces with bare hands. My first ever pineapple producing. It takes full tropical sun and a lot of wind, full sun hours.

How it started, they seem to be fond into producing flowers during winter (dry season) then when rain season starts the fruit can grow absorbing lots of water.

In Brazilian savanna, the Cerrado biome, we have plenty tree species that have strong rugged bark, and when planted in certain areas they can bear humidity which covers them in moss adapted to the strong tropical sun. This is the perfect spot for some orchids such as Cattleya walkeriana.

I got this one that soon will arrive my collection and I plant to place it together with the rest of my walkerianas in a tree like that. So I collected a seed from this tree in the first pictures to carry my project on.

This seems another younger individual from the same species. Machaerium opacum.

Bryum argenteum just got super tall in high humidity!

Liverwort appearing suddenly over my mini terracota pot. Those are so hard to cultivate, maybe sprouting naturally will turn things easier this time.

Oh my moss, what is this? Just came across that thick grasslike moss over some stones in my yard. From eastern Brazil, does anyone imagine what is it?

Just a little note on those two orchids btw. Acianthera crinita in the first photo is considered a micro orchid, as my interest suggests it's native to Brazil's eastern rainforests (Atlantic Forest, Amazon sister forest biome). It produces a bunch of flowers by leaf and they have an external fuzziness to them, but no flower at sight yet.

The second one though is a Leptotes pauloensis, also native and relative to the Cattleyas group. I'm in love with all this moss over the branch segment it is rooted in. We have a liverwort over a moss species, couldn't identify them, but I hope to keep them growing together as they protect the Leptotes' roots from drying up and may provide beneficial microbacterial life.

More native mosses in production around here. I collected those in small patches and placed them inside a little cake container that works perfectly as a greenhouse. Moisture always keeps at 99% and many are producing spores already. The idea is to use them to fill over a clay pot to plant some delicate high humidity plants outside seeping from the water that the mosses and the pot itself provide.

Mysterious native Frullania, it seems to be impossible to track the species ID without a proper microscope.

Some tillandsia species (after literally years away from here). Feeling worthless but must share those gorgeous plants here.

The color in Philodendron bipennifolium is absolutely gorgeous. This teal green highly reflexive is so charming, thanks nature winter is over down here in Brazil and we can have full growth again. Just waiting for the rains, even if la niña promisses lower rainfall this end of year.

The caladium bicolor under it just popped there and serves well to compare the color of the leaves. I'll repot it as soon as the rains start around here. Also I'm feeling like filling this pot soil with more organic matter and do some magnesium fertilization.

Succulents are doing nice this end of winter here in Brazil. I don't feel much like expanding my collection right now, but the colors they make... Surely I'll be repotting them in the future to bigger bowls, love to see them spreading all over.

A typical M. cristata leaf and this one that came out weird. Could that be mosaic virus? I'll wait to see how this will develop, maybe just some bad leaf pigment formation.

Winter is ending, miss my little cat. Poor Mingau went missing and I'm feeling super bad lately because of that. Couldn't keep his sassy ass at home and had to keep popping over neighborhood's roofs.

Hello! I just saw your post about your succ that you'd sprayed and the bugs just dropped dead. I have some very rude mealybugs very much overstaying their welcome. Could you share your super mealybug killer?? Thx~

Sorry that I took some time to see this, but I do a mixture of 1/3 water, rubbing alcohol and vinegar, I can powder a bit of sulfur in the mixture too sometimes.
