I cant shave down to the skin bc it actually hurts my skin but even with trimmed body hair, i STILL get the ~~personal hygiene~~ bullshit. I am clean, my body hair is clean, there’s nothing gross about clean hair. To reiterate:

Yeah shaving should be optional and should not be forced on young girls! My mum drilled into me from the age I started growing body hair that it was “unnatural” and “disgusting” for girls not to shave and several times has looked down on one of her coworkers who doesn’t shave. How she talks about it got so bad that I decided to shave almost everyday, resulting in a lot of cuts on my legs and my boyfriend had to tell me multiple times that I’m beautiful and don’t need to shave for him to like me for me to take a c t u a l care of my bodies. So (even though I still shave just not as often):

once in grade 6 I saw a 'pottery making club' in a ditch on the schoolyard- I assume at some point someone realized there was actually good quality clay in the ditch and when I walked up there were about a dozen 12 year olds sitting around the few girls who had brought their water bottles out to mix the clay, and a designated spot to put the finished bowls and tablets, and people going off and collecting sticks to make designs with and i really think that's the natural state of the human race

the little “talk” that jim and nephlia had was soooo good

the fact that nephlia didn’t expect that jim would tell syb what happened shows how the rifts in the mori family are growing

jim is getting so much more depth as a character, the arguments he’s having are phenomenal for that especially

the characterization he’s getting is great, too. we get to see exactly where he draws the line for what is and is not okay, and how he supports his wife but still has places he won’t go

jim is an amazing character and i love him, thank you for coming to my ted talk

the narrative and emotional satisfaction i got from nephlia’s apology to laz? impeccable.

not only was it narratively satisfying, it gave so much more depth to their relationship.

so often we see “yeah, they’re close friends, and that’s why they make up so quickly after they say/do something awful to each other. it’s just friends to enemies to friends, maybe to lovers after that” and gargantuan slights are brushed off

but here we saw an apology approached with the angle of “we are friends, or at least we were, and i fucked up, and i don’t expect you to forgive me” which is phenomenal and frankly not something we see enough of
