I want Uryu to hold me as I sleep on his chest.đ„ș
Aw, Uryu's peak husband material đAs a doctor, he gives you "orders" to relax for the weekend, as he knows you've had a busy week. "But I need to plan out the new spreadsheet layouts and the placements and -" you rant as the two of you get ready for bed, watching him take off his glasses.
"Please don't take this the wrong way, sweetheart, but your coworkers really need to help you more," Uryu interrupts your anxious ramblings as he takes your hand. "You deserve a well-rested weekend, and that begins with getting a good night's sleep." He helps you into bed and pulls the thick covers over your exhausted body.
"Oh, Uryu, I just -" you start until he shushes you and pulls you onto his chest.
"Let's relax and do something fun tomorrow," your husband says soothingly. "I know you don't like sewing, but I need to get some materials. How about you go with me to the mall? You needed new shoes, yes?"
"That's does sound nice," you say, cheek pressing against his chest. His breathing and steady heartbeats are calming. You can feel yours trying to get in sync.
"Yes, and we can also get some new kitchenware. I think Orihime was recommending a brand for us to try," Uryu continues, rubbing your back in soft circles.
"Mm, she does know her kitchen supplies," you quietly laugh as you feel your eyes start to become heavy. Yawning, you add, "We do need some new pans."
"Yes, and we can look at decor, too. You've been saying our room needs new curtains."
"Yep, ours are... not blocking enough sunlight," you murmured, eyes closed. You just love his warmth, snuggling against him even more.
"I think we should definitely get blackout curtains, then. Anything to help you sleep better."
"...Yep."
Your husband smiles as he looks closer at your face. He can instantly tell you're about to visit Dreamland. "You were so tired," he whispers, kissing the top of your head. "I'm going to make sure you sleep in tomorrow morning. You deserve it." He plants another kiss as he notices your breathing has evened.
"Good night, my love," he hums, holding you closer as he, too, drifts off.

Summary: Y/N is feeling lonely on her birthday and Uryu keeps her company.
Request: Can you make a fic of Uryu celebrating Y/N's birthday with just the two of them after work? Y/N feels lonely without anyone to celebrate with, but Uryu came in to visit to wish her a happy birthday. Y/N asks Uryu if he can stay.
A/n: Hi! Of course, I hope you enjoy <3 <3
Your heart thuds in your chest, heavy and dull, almost droopy. Your fingers glide along the stack of paper, the workday has gone by agonizingly slow.
It's your birthday today, which usually wouldn't be too exciting, but it's not usually quiet or empty, like it is this year. You haven't gotten a single text or happy birthday from anyone today. All of your coworkers walked past you with the same bland smile and a firm, professional nod.
You didn't expect anything from them...but your friends and family is a different story. Complete silence from them today...it's made your stomach churn and twist.
Your eyes drift over to the window where the sun is slowly starting to set, painting the room in warm, golden rays. You inhale sharply, surprised as the door clicks open to your office. You perk your head up and your eyes land on Uryu, leaning against the doorframe with a pan expression.
His brows are slightly furrowed as his eyes rake over you, taking in the way you're frowning.
"I assume you have big plans tonight...just wanted to give you these before you leave," he clears his throat, stepping inside and closing the door behind him with a soft click.
You glance down at the stack of his papers in his hands and you press your lips together in a thin line as he approaches. He stands a respectable distance away, extending out the papers to you.
Big plans? Your heart aches for any sort of plan for your birthday. You sigh softly and grab the papers, your fingers gently brushing over his.
It makes your heart skip a beat but you keep a calm expression plastered on your face. "Yeah, thanks," you smile weakly, slightly shrugging.
Uryu's eyes do a once over on you before he shoves his hands into the pockets of his pants and he nods firmly. He turns around and takes one step to the door.
"Happy birthday, y/n," his voice is soft, carrying even though he is facing away from you.
You gulp, pondering as you glance at the distance between him and the door.
"Hey...wait. Do you maybe wanna...stay? Or I don't know, keep me company?" you ask, your heart thudding. Your shoulders tense as Uryu stays perfectly still, almost absorbing the question.
Your eyes lock onto the tight light of his shoulders and you nervously chew on your bottom lip as the silence passes on. You shift your weight from one hip to another, starting to fiddle with the sleeve of your shirt.
Uryu slowly turns around, his eyes slightly soften and he gives a short nod. "Yeah, sure. I'm not doing anything for the rest of the night," his voice carries, firm, but also soothing.
Your shoulders slump in relief and a smile grows along your face, the first one you've worn all day. "Okay, let me get my jacket. We should get out of here anyways...it's past five," you nod eagerly, grabbing your jacket from your chair.
You and Uryu are walking side by side along the sidewalk. His shoulder occasionally brushes against yours and the only sound is the wind whistling.
The two of you stop at the railing of a bridge. The wind seems to grow a bit stronger as the sky turns shades of pink and purple as the sun goes down over the horizon.
The sounds of the water sloshing below you fill your eardrums as you lean your forearms along the railing, gazing down at the water.
"So...why aren't you with your family or friends right now?" Uryu asks, facing you and leaning an elbow on the railing. His eyes scan over your face and he tilts his head, trying to read you.
Your breath slightly hitches and you stare at the water for a moment before lifting your head up and gazing up at him. The wind slightly tousles his raven hair, revealing the frame of his glasses more.
Your shoulders slump and you can't hide the frown on your face. "Oh, usually I would be, but I guess no one remembered it was my birthday today. I haven't heard from anyone all day. Actually...you're the first person to even tell me happy birthday today," you explain, your voice laced with hurt.
Uryu's expression softens, and he leans towards you. "I'm sorry, y/n. Birthdays have never been a big deal in my family. Still sucks though," he shrugs as he reaches into his jacket pocket.
You press your lips together and narrow your eyes. "Yeah, thanks. I appreciate you doing this," you gesture to the bridge, the water, the general hangout.
Uryu fumbles with his pocket letting out a tiny curse under his breath. "I got you something. It's not much, but...here," he speaks, almost fumbling over his words.
You fully turn towards him with curiosity. Uryu pulls out a chocolate cupcake with white frosting on the top and your eyes widen. Your heart thuds against your chest as he plops a single candle on the top and your lips slowly curve up into a smile.
"You...you got me a cupcake?" you chuckle gazing down at it with such wonder. Uryu shrugs one shoulder, a smile starting to grow across his own face.
"It's not much, really."
Your eyes examine the slightly smushed cupcake and lopsided frosting. The mere act of him bringing you a cupcake on your birthday makes a warm glow form across your cheeks.
You try to hide back a wide smile by biting on your bottom lip.
"I don't have a lighter," Uryu chuckles, his shoulders slightly shaking as the sound vibrates through him. You shake your head letting out a tiny giggle.
"No, it's fine. We can just pretend," you express with amusement.
Uryu holds the cupcake out in the palm of his hand as the wind tousles with your jacket. The water ripples below you as the sky starts to darken.
"Well...make a wish, y/n."
Then your gazes meet and you hold each other's gaze for what feels like an eternity. You smile warmly and take a step closer, closing the distance between the two of you.
Uryu stays perfectly still as you lean forward, closing your eyes and gently blowing air on the candle. The tip of his ears turn slightly pink as he watches you in awe.
You straighten up and open your eyes, a chuckle rumbling up in your chest. Uryu steps a single step forward, the cupcake forgotten as he slowly reaches out.
Your breath hitches as his hand cups your jaw, thumb gently brushing over your skin. Your eyes hold each other's as your heart practically pounds out of your chest.
"Happy birthday, y/n," his voice is warm and husky. You lean into his touch, smiling up at him.
Youâre sitting there with the brush in your hand, staring at nothing.
You drag it through your hair once. It catches. You sigh and stop, shoulders slumping like the effort alone was too much.
He watches you for a second before stepping closer. âHere,â he says softly, taking the brush from your fingers. You donât even protest.
He moves behind you, close enough that you can feel him there, and starts brushing your hair for you. Slow, deliberate strokes. Heâs careful where it tangles, easing through instead of pulling, pausing whenever you shift like you might tip over.
Your head dips forward without you realizing. He steadies you with his other hand, thumb resting lightly at the back of your neck.
âStill tired,â he murmurs, more observation than comment.
You hum, eyes closing. The quiet rhythm of the brushing makes it harder to stay awake, each pass smoothing more than just your hair. He takes his time, like thereâs nowhere else he needs to be yet.
When he finishes, he runs the brush through one last time, neat and gentle. His hand lingers for a second, resting against your head, grounding.
âOkay,â he says quietly. âYouâre good.â
You donât move right away.
Neither does he.

Itâs in the way his blinks last a second too long, the way his head tips forward before he catches himself. He checks the time once, then turns his phone face down like heâs decided it doesnât matter.
âYou donât have to stay,â you say quietly. âI know youâre exhausted...â
He hums, noncommittal. Shifts closer instead.
âIâm fine,â he says, voice rough with sleep. A pause. âYouâre not.â
Thatâs all it takes.
He doesnât ask whatâs wrong. Doesnât push you to talk or try to fix anything. He just staysâelbow brushing yours, shoulder warm and steady. When you finally speak, your words come slow, careful, like youâre testing the air between you.
He listens. Really listens. Even when his eyes close, even when his breathing evens out, he reacts at the right momentsâsoft sounds of acknowledgment, a quiet laugh when you manage one.
At some point, his head dips against yours.
You think heâs asleep until he murmurs, barely audible, âIâm still here.â
Your chest tightens.
He stays like that, half-awake and stubborn about it, until your thoughts stop racing and the room feels less heavy. Only then does he let himself relax fully, weight settling against you like itâs where he was meant to be all along.
If heâs tired tomorrow, thatâs fine.
Tonight, he chose you.
