A really early version of storyboards for the animated short!
A behind the scenes of my animation experience on Spacebound. I dug up a bunch of movies I had and decided to put it all together. My workflow has changed a lot and this is in no way instructional but more of a documentation of my process. Making a short film is a great learning experience, my goal as an animator is to clearly communicate the film and the story to the audience. In that sense I am satisfied with the results. There are a lot of things I would have done differently today but I’m very happy with the reception of this film.
For more animation breakdowns and exercises check out my new blog:

Don’t usually share photos of myself on this thing, but this is exciting news! Last month I attended my first Cannes Film Festival. The animated short I directed with Kyle Moy last year was in the American Pavillion Emerging FIlmmaker Showcase and Shorts Corner. Here are some shots of me at the Q&A panel after the screening at the American Pavilion.
Unfortunately Kyle couldn’t make it so the person posing with me in the black tie is Robert Chandler (his stuff is cool too so check him out).
If you haven’t seen it yet, here is the link to the short!
Postcards printed and ready for Cannes Film Festival 2014! France here we come!
Hey Kyle, Awesome job on the animation! It's amazing. You and your team did a really good job on this. I love it. Glad to see that friends from high school are doing great things.
Thanks man!
