Disjointed response, but here I go:

Considering they're used to prop up and aid the drivers, very few have outstanding accomplishments or qualities on their own not tied to consumption...I mean yeah pretty much how the modern day worker is referred to as a wage slave

Roles the same. titles, amenities, and "benefits" may be different but are they not ensnared and then trapped in a self, social, and societal cycle of repression to have "the finer life". The self policing and monitoring they must do, the upkeep, the hypervilgilance of image and not of danger.

All this to say as a black f1 fan it's "very much giving" grid girls were the field slaves and wags are the house slaves. I definitely think WAG exposure, access, and promotion by F1 directly correlates to them being "replacement decorations", but in a new, "elevated" position when really they're still commodity, just what's on, in, or done to the body is the commodity instead of just their bodies itself.
