there's a whole other set of tooth buds under ur teeth right now. the reason they don't ever grow in is because of a protein-synthesizing gene called USAG-1. lab tests have shown drugs suppressing that protein capable of regrowing teeth in mice and ferrets (mammals that also have baby teeth first followed by permanent teeth), and human trials started a few months back. the scientists behind the drug are hoping to have it on the market by 2030. it's pretty exciting stuff, hope it doesn't end up being prohibitively expensive
