I like the Umbrella Gays, and wanted to draw a thing that happened in text RP. Fan got embarrassed and just. Decided it was time to just bury his head in his boyfriends shoulder and cuddle. Xie decided to take a picture and share it. Then I decided to draw that because there is not enough XieFan content I must make some myself.

Helena looked in the general direction of the sound with a soft smile. She then gently gets up from where she was sitting working on another one of her poems and carefully navigated to her bed, before gently reaching out to try and wrestle the blanket on top of her adorable girlfriend, who Helena could tell was already asleep by her breathing. This... would have been hard enough with sight, but she will manage. Once she was able to tuck Tracy in Helena gently leaned down and kissed the top of Tracy’s head. “At least you’ll get some rest now.”

Time for more Fan headcanon’s! Again warnings for death and suicide, mentions of drowning included, so please read carefully.

Fan’s death wasn’t an accident. It wasn’t him being so stubborn and loyal he put a promise over his safety. Fan very much purposefully drowned so that the Governor would decide he was the guilty party as his punishment would already be served with death, and after all, all the Governor wanted was punishment, not the truth. He just wanted Xie to be able to live happily, move on, and not be punished for the events at the Tavern.

On the note of ending on Tavern: Fan is also a fun drunk. While his normal personality is very abrasive and rude, and he’s quick to anger, when drunk he’s a lot more carefree and more prone to laughter, smiles, and doing dumb things just for the fun of it. But because of this, even in the Manor, Fan truly believes that only Xie, and maybe Joseph, can enjoy his presence when he’s sober.

And on a slightly lighter note: Fan and Xie were the ones who perpetuated the belief they were only “Sworn Brothers”. It was the best way to explain why they’re so close without any risk. They couldn’t just say “We’re lovers”. Especially since they both ended up in the military. It obviously backfired as now they get the history treatment of “Ah yes, these two men were very close and lived together, never seemed to show interest in women, and when one died the other wrote tragic poetry about him and then followed him into death. They were like Sworn Brother’s and very close but definitely they only had platonic feelings.” If they ever learn how they accidently no-homo’d themselves to all of history they will relentlessly mock all the people refusing to believe they’re gay.

Add on to the slightly lighter note: While Fan and Xie have been a couple for years, they tend to use their last names in public, and only use their first names in private. If you hear them refer to each other by their first names in public, they either trust you, or they’re very worried about something.

Fan and Xie can actually exist separately when not in matches, but this is a new development. Their payment for coming to the manor and becoming hunters is that the Baron made it so they could both leave the Umbrella at once. Before coming to the Manor they could only be one or the other much like in a match. Which was very depressing that they couldn’t truly be together like that, even if they were always together.

Another thing, though outright warning for mentions of suicide and hanging past this point: Fan saw Xie’s death, he didn’t move on when he died himself and wanted to stay by his beloved. He tried his best to stop Xie from committing suicide, but there isn’t much a ghost can do to stop the living. So in the end all he could do was watch Xie hang himself from the very bridge Fan had died under. Fan still somewhat blames himself for Xie’s death. If he had just made a different plan instead of being so stubborn. If he had instead insisted on going with Xie to get the umbrella instead of staying at he bridge. If he could have just reached Xie to stop him from hanging himself, then Xie’s life wouldn’t have been cut so short.
