some of you seem to have bought into the capitalist lie that copyright infringement causes artists to "lose money", which fundamentally assumes that everyone (or even like a notable portion) who obtains a would-be-illegal copy would have otherwise paid full price to obtain the original. and like we all know that's not true right

this is already how copyright law works. working creatives (the majority of people in the industries) already sign away their work to "capitalists" (problematic wording - petit bourgeois artists are typically already capitalists, but i do understand the intent) and then are not permitted to make money off of or sell their work, have no claim to it, and will be legally decimated if they try to outside of whatever very narrow avenues may be granted to them

ngl i kinda hate the woke 2.0 and friend that's too woke "jokes" because any bigotry that is normalized enough will have you get dismissed as "the friend that's too woke" for calling it out. like i've seen people called wokescolds and shit for saying it's bad to use mental disorders as an insult. it's basically a way to tell you that it's ruining the optics to point out bigotry or to justify being bigoted since it's to the "right targets"

i really like the way toby fox use deltarune to tell stories that undertale didn't get to tell, without making any of them the "definitive" version of that story. what kind of warrior was gerson? well, deltarune won't tell us that, but what if we got to see a darkner warrior based on him! what kind of people were the human souls? well, we won't get that, but what if a bunch of soul-themed flower darkners pretended to be humans? i like it
