everyone say thank you to that one anne hathaway twelfth night promo image for all it's done for fandom
absolutely hate it when the pleasurable activity procrastination hits. i’m going to do something fun that brings me joy but not yet. yeah, not yet. not yet. maybe i shouldn’t do it at all, it’s not that fun
I liked the finale. I though the actors did a great job and that the scenes in it worked well in their own regard. Being so tied to the fourth season made it feel like a penultimate episode rather than a finale, but that's happened before.
I do think there needed to be more buildup though, especially to things not to do with Lestat but kinda with him too. I can see where Armand was coming from and liked that he finally got to act out his anger in the finale, but I'd liked to have seen more of that anger beforehand, or at least some kind of denial of it or something that hinted at what was going on beneath the surface. Another scene or two between him and Daniel would also have done well to solidify that relationship.
Louis felt more balanced, though his involvement also felt a little bit abrupt and like he was juggling a couple of different things that didn't quite mesh. The selection makes sense as a story told from Lestat's perspective, but it does take away somewhat from the coherency of Louis' story.
Lestat... I'm still having trouble fitting into a slot. I don't like Lestat very much, because he's a type of character I don't much like, and have had a hard time really getting into his mindset. It's also his story and narrative, so no matter how much he may obfuscate about the others there's always going to be a thicker layer over what he really is. Sometimes the truth broke through, sometimes it didn't, sometimes it probably should have. I'm not sure I wanted more as much as I might have to engage with his story more to know exactly what pieces are there.
Lots of criticisms and I think my main gripe is that it needed a bit more flesh, but I did enjoy this season. It was fast-paced and engaging and mostly worked well. The show does a good job of portraying them all as pretty awful, yet different and somewhat understandable people. And it is at the end of the day Lestat's story told from from his perspective, which will limit what the other characters do and are on screen. Though sometimes the show broke away a bit from that, which maybe is part of what makes it feel like their stories aren't complete. A stricter perspective might have made it make more sense. But there would have been less Armand, so that's a big minus.

I saw good in you.
Still kinda processing the actual episode, but what an amazing job the actors did, especially Assad, Jacob and Delainey. Really brought it together.
Deutsche Bahn need to be banished to hell or something.
Danish rail says the trains will start running after 15/8, but won't sell any tickets. Czech rail agrees on the date and will sell tickets. DB doesn't say shit except if you go into the engineering map view where they have a vague note, which doesn't mention any specific services, about revising the timetables for trains running through Hamburg Altona from 14/8. Except you can still take a train from Copenhagen that terminates in Hamburg Altona and then take the S-bahn and then another train and ugh. Germany was a mistake.
