"why do you know that" i am curious about the world around me
i went to tautology island and i was there visiting the island
On the line
sherpas used to be treated like expedition partners that knew the land better than you because they were raised on it and now theyâre treated like they are lowly disposable service workers setting up heated tents or spas for wealthy hikers who have no business on the mountain like they are collecting your nasty trash off one of the holiest and most sacred mountains in the world like do yâall understand that we see sagarmatha or mount everest as a living deity on earth while the rest of the world sees her as a conquest?
locals of nepal hold the belief that your karma is the strongest as you reach the peak of sagarmatha and the mountain gives to you the spiritual energy you carry within yourselfâbenevolent or malevolent. you violate the spiritual sanctity of the mountain with your trash and your hubris. you disrupt the spirits that have long dwelled there. if you must summit sagarmatha, it isnât and shouldnât ever be from a place of bragging rights or bucket list goals but as a spiritual journey to connect with the spirit of nature at its most powerful.
this post had everything I could hope for
There was this TV show in Australia on Channel 9 in the 00's called Parallax, it was about kids jumping between alternate worlds through gateways in seemingly ordinary places... Basically all of the sets were actually just Places around Kings Park (an enormous public park in Perth, Western Australia), East Perth, and popular beaches. It was actually a pretty good show, except for the part where I knew kids who acted in it and the monsters were made by my art teacher.
isn't australia also the home of the kids show about a kid in a coma going to a world of feral kid-tribes?
That does sound familiar, but I can't name it off the top of my head. We had a lot of bizarre children's media.
At the risk of being terminated for another pussy lookalike, may I present Plasmo
We also had Silver Sun, a show about a Generation Ship part way through its journey to a new home.
And I hope everyone knows about Round the Twist, the show where the teen boy is impregnated by a dryad and has a pretty intense mpreg birth scene, also his brother drinks a weird fish that turns his dick into a propeller propelling him to victory in the swimming carnival and also giving him the power of flight... You can watch Round the Twist free on YouTube. Also the family lives in a lighthouse.
Also Pig's Breakfast, a show where the water tower in the middle of town is actually an alien spaceship and only a couple of kids know... They really went all out on the aliens.
There's more but this is getting long... Australians are weird people.
Certain episodes may have been cut in other countries
Dryad mpreg baby birth by big burp
Bronson gets a whirly willy by swallowing a weird fish
Coming back to this and Silver Sun, it's a generation ship... Where are all the elderly? Do they operate on the rules of Logan's Run? Is there a Soylent Green/Corpse Starch thing going on here? Suspicious as fuck đ
Some fic art for you on this lovely Saturday!
I am serious. We can't keep doing things like "curiosity = bizarre male quirkiness"
I really canât stand the degree to which sections of the âgirlypopâ internet have decided curiosity, facts, and learning are ânot for the girlsâ or ânot for the gaysâ
hello??
thereâs no woke way to do âmen are from Mars, women are from Venusâ and if there were it would not be âgirls are dumb (/positive)â
favorite trope is rocky not realizing graces glasses like. Actually do something
This is from Invincible (2003) #69
Both Atom Eve and Universa look awful. Eve is bending as if she doesnât have a spine and Universaâs oufit and body is a whole mess. The art is made my Ryan Ottley, known for not having the slightest clue about female anatomy.

Well, shoutout to the cat girls and cat boys, furries of all genders, on the front lines or in support roles in Ukraine. You go you funky felines.

I'm all for abortion as long as the woman wants it regardless of disabilities, but China's one child policy has lead to so many aborted females that I'm beginning to have my doubts. Should the government at least have a ban on gender revealing? I think even if the mother abortion because she wants a son it's ok as long as it's her choice, regardless of cultural bias as it's her body, but not if she was forced because her husband or family wants her to abort it. Maybe the gender should only be revealed to the mother, and not the father I guess?. Is it morally wrong to abort because it's female? But in the end by law the choice should solely be on the pregnant woman.
The problem was the One Child Policy putting cultural stressors on the mother to abort female babies when they might not otherwise have. But it is always still 100% up to her. If it was her husband pressuring her, then that isn't pro-choice. But even if there was a hypothetical someone now who only wanted a male baby and would abort 100 girl babies to get one, that's their choice, and you wouldn't want a girl to be raised by such a person regardless.
This is such a bad comparison from the asker because
1. The one child policy was coercitive. It wasnât pro choice it was just pro abortion.
2. Checking the gender of the fetus WAS illegal precisely for that reason (and it think might still be) but people still found ways to do illegal tests
But anyway itâs entirely besides the point. Women were forced to have abortions and in some cases were sterilised against their wills. This is the opposite of bodily autonomy.
Also - bold of them to assume that the mother wouldnât want abort a girl. If anything she has more social and economic incentive to do it.
