Don’t think too hard about the science. It will only cause pain and confusion. Unless you enjoy that sort of pain, in which case, please share, other Doctor Who fans love that shizzle.

Don’t think too hard about the time travel or the canon either. The only parts that are actually canon are whatever the current writer feels like acknowledging that week. (The “unless you enjoy it” clause from Rule 2 applies here as well)
