I spiritually identify as an angelkin, and apparently, I am not on the planet for the first time. However, I don’t know much about my angelic heritage, let alone my angelic friends or family.

I am non-religious. The term Angel is what I use to describe best what I am, since it’s closest to what I feel. I am well aware the human-perceived concept of angels has originated from religion. I strongly relate to that, still.

Also, I’m an atheist: In spite of my spiritual beliefs, I don’t believe in a god. At least, I don’t serve one. I don’t belong to one. No matter if there is one or not.

The only reason for me to believe in Angels is because I am one.

I’m the type of angel you see in all the romantic paintings and stained glass windows. That doesn’t fit into my belief system of atheist spirituality AT ALL, and yet!!

my best friend when i was like 9 gave this to me and haven’t worn it for years because i never used to like crystal bead bracelets. i think people irl just get a kind of angel-y vibe from me i suppose? which is cool :)

Being out with a bunch of alterhuman friends / supporters is amazing. I can just be an Angel and be seen as an Angel and be called an Angel! It’s nothing weird, funny, ridiculous, or whatever. It’s just “Ah, there’s the Angel!”

when it comes to the way divinity feels, there are so may ways i could quantify it. it's warm at times, electrifying at others. it's heat burning its way out of my chest.

i could also define divinity as deft fingers preening my wings. the weightlessness of flight. divinity feels like a glowing ball of light, cupped tenderly in my hands and pressed between my ribs to rest against my beating heart.

Now here comes a random connection.

Lately I’ve noticed a clear feeling of similarity between hares and the Angels my subconscious seems to remember.

For some reason, when I look at a picture of a hare, I automatically, fellowly think of the the species of Angels I knew. For a long time, I thought to feel like this about deer, but that was was a far more distant similarity.

Hares have a similar look to deer, too, but they actively make me think of my fellow Angel folk and I think that’s absolutely cool.

But also, I don’t know what it’s supposed to mean.

While I am a bit disheartened that it’s grown into something else, it would be irresponsible of me not to spread information where I can, and I’m here to remind everyone that reading is political.

If you are capable of reading, it is political. Pay attention to what they’re planning to restrict in book bans and read that. There’s a reason they want to keep you from consuming said media. So read it. Consume it anyway. Give them the big fuck you and read what they want you to avoid.

I’m a queer disabled person in the US and I refuse to be silent. Please refuse to be silenced. I am genuinely begging you to stand up and organize with others. Listen to people of color who have been doing this for years and build community with your neighbors. It’s so so important not to be isolationists right now.
