Carnival of Rust - Poets of the Fall
rxnin-of-vale:
“Ah my apologies. I too was distracted.”
Stupid scroll GPS was not helping him find his way around any better.
“Nothing in particular, im just new to the area…”
“....Is your....device up to date, perhaps?” She notes the way he’s holding it, and bites the bullet to make an assumption.
“...W..well, I could be of some assistance...t-though I’m not sure where you are trying to travel to...”
@rxnin-of-vale
“S-sorry, I was...distracted. I didn’t notice your presence..”
How far in was she into her own thoughts?!
“D-did you need something?”
“...this is...it, isn’t it...?”
Reblog if you Multiship :)
every relationship is in its own verse. no one is cheating unless plotted
....shes heard the conversations while doing file reports. There’s discussion about Atlasian technology, and how to manipulate it. She notices that far more people are quiet around her than she’s recalled ever being so.
And she finds out why, on a file on someone elses desk. Her name, not her officer. One of the medical team, she recalls, that found her when she’d been rescued by Null.
....Why does it say terminate on it?
Pulse steps back, one foot behind the other. She....They wouldn’t decommission her, would they...? She hurries off, trying to appear normal but the word rings in her vision like a warning bell.
Don’t mind the Specialist; she’s doing what she does best--staying out of everyone’s way.
Leave an object in my ask and my muse will react to it being given to them.
huntsman-ash:
“That would be good. I’ve had situations with civilians getting trapped under rubble and worse.” If they had something that could help dig them out…
“Groundhogs can dig cant they?”
“They can. They are burrowing creatures, so....” She murmurs, connecting wires and settling them in specific places in the frame. “It’ll have claws for that...maybe some lasers...” She adds, turning in place.
We all make mistakes in RP, reblog if it’s okay for your partners to politely message you if you have missed one of their rules or made a mistake about their character’s information
huntsman-ash:
“A flying groundhog. That honestly sound horrifying. If it doesnt end up being useful for a recon drone then it could probably be pretty useful as an intimidation machine.” Which had its own usefulness on the field for sure.
“It would be quite the intimidation tactic, to be fair...” She grabs some more parts, methodically putting them together to continue to build her machine. “Multi-terrain recon drone too...as well as potential search and rescue...”
huntsman-ash:
“Im just curious is all. If I had to guess its a tactical advantage. Low to the ground, probably capable of limited digging, easy to slide under stuff. Sounds like what you want for an infiltration and recon drone you can’t make fly or DONT want to make fly.”
...Oh.
Oh she didn’t think about that!
“Yes. I’m hoping for it to be used as such when I get to provide support.” Least, on her team. She isn’t sure how Null will take it.
“Could you imagine such a machine flying...?” What a dangerous thing he would be!

specialistpulse:
“I’m crafting a shell that can hold artificial intelligence.” She admitted, turning again to the pile of various materials. “It’s my first…project…but I know it will be functional, once it is done…”
“A shell? Like a robotic body for one?” Kind of like her own…or Penny’s chassis, for that matter. “Why’s it look like a groundhog?”
“...Yes. That information is personal and thus classified, Ash.” He didn’t need to know why...and she felt a surge of confidence mixed in with fear. He could technically force the Specialist to tell him by letting Cross know, but to keep Null safe....
huntsman-ash:
“Thats not not actually a dog you know that right? I think its some kind of rodent…” Still he couldn’t entirely blame her for making the assumption that it was a canine. He’d made the same mistake when he was like, 5, and her overall knowlage of the world was limited if what Cross had told him was even half true and he had no reason to not believe the boss.
Knowledge about much of the living world was extremely limited, any excursions to find more than what was narrowly specified met with digital ‘barriers’.
Pulse takes a minute to process, a blank look appearing on her face as she analyzes the structure. “It will still be essential. Perhaps it is not of the canine classification but it will be fierce enough and function similar to one.” She’s positive the body will work out. She just needs some more time on the wiring.
“Have your missions proved successful as of late, HK Ash?” She quips, possibly mis-titling him as the Android briefly loses focus, seeking out a specific wire from the pile.
huntsman-ash:
“A shell? Like a robotic body for one?” Kind of like her own…or Penny’s chassis, for that matter. “Why’s it look like a groundhog?”
“It is a small mechanical canine.” She states proudly. “A canine that is close to the ground.” And it was true--there was a body under some of those parts, carefully made and wired, and it....did look like a metallic groundhog.
“I acquired the blueprints by looking up examples of the animal through the Atlas database. Some also classify this animal as a ‘Prairie Dog.’“
huntsman-ash:
“Once or twice.” He admits, looking it over. “Sometimes in the field your weapon gets damaged or needs replacement, and you have to cobble something together from whatever is on hand. We got training in it at Fortress.”
“I’m crafting a shell that can hold artificial intelligence.” She admitted, turning again to the pile of various materials. “It’s my first...project...but I know it will be functional, once it is done...”
