đ¶ âOoh, baby, do you know whatâs worth? Ooh, heaven is a place on earth.â đ¶
Nirvana is a psychological state of mind. Itâs not a place like heaven. Itâs not something thatâs not here. It is here! in the middle of the turmoil, called Samsara- the whirlpool of life conditions. Nirvana is the condition that comes when you are not compelled by desire, fear or by social commitmentsâŠWhen you hold your center and act out of there.
Joseph Campbell (via illuminationuniverse)
âThe first step to liberation is losing your fear of being wrong. I started by admitting that the only thing I know for certain is that I donât know anything for certain. Man, that felt good! Every idea or opinion I have are just thoughts Iâm entertaining.. not concrete. Nobody in the world has all the information to claim anything as universally true (not scientists, historians, nor astronauts). So by letting go of the "needâ to be right, we not only free ourselves of the need to defend, protect, or get upset if/when our beliefs are challenged, but we simultaneously welcome all new perspectives with an open mind. So go ahead.. lose your fear of being wrong. Itâs not so bad. :)
âIf somebody tells me that the sky is green, and I believe it to be blue, I donât need to argue with them, prove myself right by making them wrong, or call them names, I just walk away from that conversation with the newfound knowledge that to some people the sky looks green. Thatâs all. The blueness of my sky is not at all jeopardized by how green someone else perceives it to be. Imagine how much easier life would be if we stopped fighting about every little thing. Loosen your grip, smile, itâs all okay. All of it.â

Samsara
Itâs time again Once again I wonder how will I make it? âLike every other timeâ âŠof course
Soon I will be consumed in dark colors consumed in a dark mind It wonât budge me sure it will set its marks âŠLike always
I do not feel prepared not this time either Yet others seem to thrive But I wish for another view
For I am sunshine in flesh This does not suit me
The cold energy is overwhelming Every bit of it is overwhelming All eyes I must look through All minds I must read All feelings I must feel All words I must talk All souls I must touch All worlds I must see E v e r y t h i n g I must be I am filled with gratitude Donât get me wrong Itâs a cycle  I know the story but forget everytime It really is a tough journey
Still
I love every bit of it âIâm ready, show me moreâ - She whispered. - Anon
Choices
âAt any given moment, you can chose to follow the chain of thoughts, emotions, and sensations that reinforce a perception of yourself as vulnerable and limited - or you can remember that your true nature is pure, unconditioned, and incapable of being harmed. You can remain in the sleep of ignorance or remember that you are and always have been awake. Either way, youâre still expressing the unlimited nature of your true being. Ignorance, vulnerability, fear, anger, and desire are expressions of the infinite potential of your buddhanature. Thereâs nothing inherently wrong or right with making such choices. The fruit of Buddhist practice is simply the recognition that these and other mental afflictions are nothing more or less than choices available to us because our real nature is infinite in scope.
We choose ignorance because we can. We choose awareness because we can. Samsara and nirvana are simply different points of view based on the choices we make in how to examine and understand our experience. Thereâs nothing magical about nirvana and nothing bad or wrong about samsara. If youâre determined to think of yourself as limited, fearful, vulnerable, or scared by past experience, know only that you have chosen to do so. The opportunity to experience yourself directly is always available.â

Chogyam Trungpa was responsible for bringing Tibetan Buddhism to the west. Fascinating story behind Trungpa. His most notable book was titled Cutting Through Spiritual Materialism. A great documentary about him, that I believe in on Netflix is Crazy Wisdom. To speak frankly Chogyam Trungpa was crazy.
But remember when you learn more about him, when you are on the side of a mountain and you see birds leaping off and taking flight, just because you are on the same mountain, understand that you are not a bird. For some of the sticklers that follow this blog, the above is a common analogy that is used when discussing Chogyam. I do understand that Ram Dass used the analogy. I also understand that Ram Dass was a teacher of his. This was not an attempt to hijack a Ram Dass quote. I typically refrain from discussing my own practice and teachers as Iâm would never measure up to to them nor would I want to claim myself to be a representative as I am a deeply flawed person. That being said, I think Iâve mentioned this is previous incarnations of this blog, I took refuge (initiation) in Kagyu Buddhism which is Chogyamâs lineage though he was in 2 I believe? Also, he was a bit of a rouge and not used as an example by my teacher. However, he always comes up, usually by newer students, and when he does the above analogy is given. Probably because it works best. He was a great teacher, a drunk and had sex with students. All the crazy stuff aside his teachers were very focused and were flawless. Hence  the term crazy wisdom. I hope this helps.
