None of that is classical unless it was written in the classical period, so no, none of those things.
Thatâs what I was saying. Are those the types of things youâve seen people call classical? I know what music genres are, dude.Â

Why are Halloween costumes so sexy? I thought the whole point was to be terrifying.
I think it depends on what your overall goal is for the night... what are you dressing up as, Britt?
vancekidds:
Iâm not entirely sure how it became a thing to refer to all instrumental, orchestral, and choral music as classical, but considering classical is an era of music and not a genre, I really wish that would stop.
Do you mean like movie soundtracks or things like The Piano Guys? Either way, neither of those is really classical...
ivyhamilton:
My entire Insta feed right now is related to homecoming. When did I start following so many McKinley people?
Probably when you found our your soulmate was one. Homecoming is going to be awesome.

âMy dreams?â Since joining Glee, he supposed his dream was related to music. Heâd started the YouTube channel that Ivy encouraged, thinking maybe he could reach an audience that was interested in what he could do, though he hadnât given a lot of thought to where he might go when he finished high school. âI guess⊠music? Iâd want to go somewhere with plenty of clubs I could play, maybe somewhere I could go to school and learn more theory or to develop my voice?â
âYeah, like what do you want to do more than anything?â he questioned, nodding as Roderick started to explain. âOkay... so we should go to New York or something!â he suggested, âYou can sing in open mic places, and check out music schools, and like play on a streetcorner or something!â he said, getting extremely excited and convincing himself that this was exactly what Roderick needed to solve his problem. âDude, then youâll see that this all gets better, and youâll have a goal! Glee will help you get into music school, dude,â he pointed out.

Hugging his guitar to his chest, Roderick frowned a little at the suggestion that Spencer would âfix it.â He knew thatâs how his friend worked - put a problem in front of him and heâd punch his way through it. It was something Roderick admired when it wasnât about him, but heâd rather Spencer left his problems alone sometimes. âI had this stupid idea that Iâd keep putting videos up. Maybe that would be enough.â He gestured toward some new music equipment his parents had given him for his birthday. âHonestly, Iâm probably not going to quit, so we donât need to talk about this. Iâll be fine. Itâs no problem.â
Spencer sighed, running a hand through his hair in agitation. He knew that the way he fixed problems and the way Roderick fixed problems were very different, and he was afraid using his usual methods of fighting people off would push his best friend away from Glee club and his dreams even more. âThink about it, Roderick,â he said, âWhat are your dreams? Youâre an awesome singer, and really creative. If you could go anywhere in the world for college after high school where would you go?â he asked, suddenly getting the brilliant idea to take Roderick to his dream city to prove to him that it would get better and Glee would help get him there. He figured if they visited a college they could convince their parents to pay for it.Â
skylar-elswood:
Skylar. My name is Skylar, and Iâm looking forward to your set. I admire the ability your group has to pull together a successful performance at the last minute.
Hello, I guess... Iâm Spencer. Not everything we do is last minute. Weâve been practicing hard for sectionals and weâre going to win.

oneredroderick:
Heâd told Spencer where he would be, so he didnât bother getting up when he heard his friend knock. Better to let him storm in, sit where he wanted, ask his questions. It gave Roderick time to figure out how to answer them. When Spencer pounced on him, he smiled a little, bringing an arm up to pat his back. He wanted to call his friend weird for over-explaining the âtackle bro-hug,â but he knew heâd just be avoiding the whole point of this conversation, and he decided to just face it head-on.
âIâm not upset, exactly,â Roderick started, looking down at his hands. âIâm just tired. Of the attention. And maybe things would go back to normal if I werenât involved in anything.â Normal meant being bullied, but not by someone like Bree, who could back up her taunts in ways that actually hurt. Normal meant no risk of getting into arguments with people he liked, though the argument with Marley was long over. He reached over and picked up his new guitar, just to have something in his hands. âMaybe I just want one year where every day doesnât feel like a struggle.â
Spencer sighed, settling into a spot on the bed next to Roderick. Part of him didnât really understand because Roderick had been bullied way before joining Glee. He knew something bigger had to be going on but he didnât know why his friend wasnât telling him. âDude, Iâm your best friend. I know for a fact that you struggled a lot more before joining glee, so what on earth is going on that is making you feel so stressed?â
He thought for a few moments, staring at Roderick but the other boy wasnât looking at him. âDude, youâre stressed right now and so you picked up your guitar... I think that shows how much you need to be a part of this group. Iâm your best friend, just tell me whatâs going on and Iâll fix it. Every day will still be a struggle without Glee, but you wonât get to do what you love,â he said, getting frustrated.
oneredthreadquinn:
I wish you guys luck.
Thanks, weâll definitely need it...
grahamnobel:
Hate to see what happened to the other guy. But just a minor head injury is impressive, considering the contexts. High school football, Iâm guessing?Â
Yeah, high school football. Still pretty hardcore, though.Â
skylar-elswood:
I sense that youâre skeptical of my motives, but I assure you that I have no interest in beating you through sabotage. If we win, itâll be fair and square. If you win, itâll be the same way.
If you say so, Warbler... if you say so.... and itâs when we win, not if. Because weâre going to kick your ass at sectionals.
brittxnypierce:
Well, obviously. You need to beat the Warblerâs.
Yes, obviously. Can you help us beat them?

Spencer stood outside of Roderickâs house for a few moments when he got there, reading over their text messages. He was frustrated, but he wasnât sure if he was frustrated with Roderick, the bullies, or himself. He didnât realize how much it had been affecting his friend, and that made him feel like heâd failed his best friend. At the same time, he was upset with Roderick for not coming to him when he was having these problems. He sighed, deciding that ultimately he was going to choose to be mad at the bullies and no one else.Â
With that thought, he opened the door and stormed straight up to Roderickâs room. He knocked once but then just opened it, knowing that the boy wasnât going to get up. âOkay,â he said, pursing his lips. âIâm going to hug you now. But itâs going to be a bro hug. Like a tackle bro-hug, okay? And then weâre going to talk,â he said firmly, before marching over to the bed and jumping on top of Roderick with maybe a bit more force than necessary and wrapping his best friend in a hug.Â
After a moment he pulled back, sitting up straight next to him on the bed. âWhatâs going on?â he asked softly, âWhat has you so upset that youâd actually consider giving up Glee club?â he asked. He knew it must be serious because Roderick didnât have other friends before the club. To Spencer, quitting was weakness, but he knew how important Glee was to Roderick and so he was trying to be a good listener and figure out what was actually bothering his friend so he could fix it.Â
danehamiltonx:
Right. Of course. It wasnât a lecture, just pointing out of a fact.
Mkay. Thanks. Iâll keep that in mind as I continue to rock as an awesome football player and you... continue reading books or whatever.
jakeatmckinley:
So asking someone how theyâve hurt themselves is getting on their back? Okay. Good luck with the recovery, Spence.
Thanks.
grahamnobel:
Well, that explains the head injury. Iâve heard football injuries can be brutal; do you get hurt often?Â
Not too often, usually Iâm pretty on top of things. Just tackled someone a little too hard, unfortunately.
danehamiltonx:
Just because you play football doesnât mean youâre smart? So youâre calling yourself stupid? As Iâm sure youâve noticed, repeated head trauma can be very damaging.
Thatâs not what I meant! It was a typo, sheesh. Yeah, yeah. Look, I get enough lectures from my worried mother, okay? I donât need one from some guy who doesnât even know me, too.
