Hey, I’m always good for a hug. It’s human connection. People often forget that we’re a communal species, and we need that physical connection. Sounds like a great day. As long as you enjoyed yourself, that’s what matters in the end. I always kind of... have to frame it, like... at the end of my life, what am I going to remember? I want to look back and feel like I had fun and enjoyed myself and was a good person. That stuff. Watch the fun stuff, eat the cake, buy the...candles or whatever, that you don’t need, but you really want.

The younger boys in my family love everything between superheroes and wrestling, they are charmers as well. They have a ton of energy and can be very silly, but the girls are just classic sugar and spice. I enjoy time with all of them, but I’m a lot closer to my niece because I’ve always been very close to my sisters. I’ll likely speak to her towards the end of the week. That’s your sign to make some time and see them, even a simple text really makes their day. Our industry can be terribly demanding with our time.

I feel like my family is all spice all the time. How many siblings do you have? And I definitely need to make some time for them soon. The past... few years, really... I was going to say months, but it’s really been a solid two or three years of just nonstop working. It’s been a lot. It’s great, don’t get me wrong. But it takes its toll.

I’ve decided to take a few weeks off from Loki pre-production to visit my family back in London, and have just gotten back to LA this evening. Have to say, I think I spent more time with my niece than my own mother. While dropping her off at dance classes and situating her, her friend comes over to sit with us before one class as we’re struggling to learn how to tie our shoes. I glanced down to see her mate had slip-ons. So, I said, “Oh wow, we’re going to get you a pair of those after lunch tomorrow. It would make our lives much easier.” This child looks me dead in the eye and says, “Your life is hard because you have to help me tie my shoes, Uncle Tom?” After practice was over, I asked if she wanted to wear her ear muffs and she said she’d rather her ears freeze off because she’s heard enough today. To say I miss her terribly already would be an understatement. She’s giving me great inspiration for Loki season two dialogue pitches. @hfrpstarters​

I'm not sure even what to say except that I think your niece is everything we need in the world right now. So young and yet so wise. It sounds like an amazing trip home, and your family sounds as witty and intelligent as you are. My nephew was much more of a daredevil hellion who pretty much breathed chaos, but he knew how to turn on the smile and the charm at the drop of a hat. I hope you're able to facetime with your niece soon, or see her again, because... you know, now you've got me thinking about my family, and I've not seen so many of them in awhile, I've been working so much. Gotta hold on to what's important.

I... well, that's fair. Pixar's done a lot of great stuff, but they definitely missed the mark with that one. I'd LIKE to be on the sweater train, but I have to live with the fact that I'll just never, you know, match up to your greatness. But I've been known to rock a sweater or two. We absolutely should do a project together soon. I'm down. I mean, I'll probably have to do some like serious core work and wear lifts in my shoes and... I don't know... summon the power of a long dead god just so I could exist in your presence and not be blinded, but I'll do what I have to do. ;)

To be honest, I think I would have forgotten about some of the things if I had not been cleaning out my closet.  In the long run I know I am a hoarder and if I really wanted the things back I would have asked for them back by now.  But with the being said though, I had to ask how you would get them back if you really wanted them back, if that makes sense.  What you said totally makes sense and I would never let anything that was connected to my family or something that means something to me in which I would let it be borrowed.  

I am Ashley, by the way, it is not useless so do not think like that.  

I’ve definitely had those moments where I’ll suddenly think about something that I used to have. It’s about 50/50 whether I lost it or loaned it to someone. I guess if you really wanted something back, you could always reach out to that person like “Hey, you remember that thing I loaned you?” Even better if it’s someone you had a falling out with, and you can guilt trip them for not returning your stuff. Not that I’ve ever done that. I’d never. Also it’s good to meet you Ashley. I hope you eventually get your stuff back.
