Years ago I saw a Lord of the Rings display at Barnes and Noble that included a Hallmark-style greeting card with Frodo on the front and inside text that read: “We set out to save the Shire, Sam. And it has been saved. But not for me.”

And I have been thinking about that card ever since, desperately wishing I had bought it, and wondering what the fuck kind of occasion would warrant a card featuring that sentiment.

weirdly enough, i have actually been the recipient of that exact card. it was a birthday card from someone who knew i loved lotr but didn’t really know much about the actual movie, but i feel like she should’ve been clued into the ‘wtf’ vibe from the incredibly agonized face frodo is making on the front of the card.

If you still have that card… I would do anything to see a photo of it. You can cover up the personalized message, but I really, really, really want to see proof that this card existed and was not the product of my overactive imagination.

This is my Creeture, C!Fox is a void demon! Void Demons are a "mob" that I made up that live in the void and are the reason that players take damage when they fall in the void. They start as a hivemind that eat players souls whenever they fall in, if a piece of the hivemind eats enough player souls, they can become their own player and escape the hivemind. However, they must continue to eat player souls to stay above the void which is perma-death no matter what the server is set to. Because of this, escaped Void Demons typically live in very populated servers where it's easy to just pick off a stray player. If they don't get player souls, they either starve, go feral, or are dragged back into the void. C!fox is not very smart though and likes to make friends :D They,, have eaten some friends though :) OH also!! they wear masks of the players they kill, as a disguise of that player :) The one C!Fox wears is actually a mob, and my mascot hehe

I've also made a dnd au of them (renamed Vica) and play them in a campaign lol though they've gone through A Lot

so this is nonna, my lil guy. C!nonna is a guardian hybrid, may or may not have been resurrected by the ocean as a conduit to serve some higher purpose, and is overall just a little guy!! on the same server with fox, i had a glitch at one point where i would keep seeing mobs as if they had the glowing effect. that combined with keeping the ocean ambient sounds at max volume i just made it canon to my lore LOL. he can see and hear everything in the ocean and has no idea why <3

one time they lost an eye (either for lore RP reasons or getting pincushioned by trident drowned, who can say) and replaced it with a heart of the sea.

i have plans of changing it to the left eye because that's the one that hurts when i have migraines but details.

I’m reading fourth wing for research right now and while I appreciate the representation of chronic joint pain, especially related to illness…

Using knives to fight requires a lot of quick wrist movements which I personally, as someone with chronic joint pain greatly struggle to do. Everyone’s experience is different but idk it just feels kinda weird. I’m only at the beginning tho so maybe the author expands and shows more
