There is one I do love... more than the others. The way a bird would fly two thousand miles through storms just to be with the one he loves. That is the love I feel. And I am a fool because it is only now, when we're about to die, that I have the courage to admit it... even to myself. I'm sorry. I should have said earlier.
Every time I re read the game of thrones books it strikes me more just how fucking YOUNG these people are. Like. Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon died in their late 30s. Renly died when he was like 22. Jon is like 16 when he takes command of the night's watch. Dany is 14 when her first husband dies and she gives birth to their stillborn child. Ramsey Bolton and Theon Greyoy are like 17 - 20 when Ramsey mutilates Theon. Sam Tarly is 17 when he kills a White Walker.
Like Robert Baratheon was a 17 year old boy when the famously insane and delusional king of the country demanded that Jon Arryn hand over Ned Stark (also like 17 at the time) for summary execution by torture. And his choices were basically "overthrow the government and take over" or "let my best friend get publicly tortured to death" and then everybody was mad when he wasn't actually a very good king after personally killing the Crown Prince in open warfare and taking over command of the entire government at a whopping 21 years old because that was the only way to not let his best friend get publicly murdered by the state.
There's like 5 or 6 main characters who are over 40 years old.
They are all teenagers and 20 somethings with billions of dollars and thousands of troops and hundreds of barrels of wine basically gambling the lives of the entire continent on who wins at 3D chess this year.
Almost none of these people are old enough to be president.
We cling to what is gone. Angel, 5x16 "Shells"
Who in the buffyverse had the best character development and why is it these four?
No matter how profoundly sad a Buffy episode is, someone will walk in on you watching a scene like this
ANGEL THE SERIES | 1.05 "Rm w/a Vu"
"No! Well, she never did have any taste."
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER | 5.14, "Crush"
Buffy the Vampire Slayer 01.02 The Harvest
DAWSON'S CREEK — 6.24 "…Must Come to an End"
Hallmark Christmas movie but the salt-of-the-earth small-town guy moves to the big city and falls in love with the cynical career woman and they stay in the city and work side by side to make the world a better wait that’s Superman, once again I have just written Superman
Mrs. Claus opens "The Year Without a Santa Claus" by claiming the eponymous year took place "before you were born". Seeing as the movie was released in 1974, this means the year must have been before then.
Bounding this on the lower end is the presence of ice hockey - mentioned by Heat Miser - and the use of telephones. Ice hockey was invented in 1875, while Alexander Graham Bell built the telephone in 1876, meaning the year must post-date these. These figures give a range of approximately 100 years during which Santa may have taken his holiday.
Yet, narrowing this further is the presence of a December calendar counting the 1st to a Wednesday. Between 1876 and 1974, only the Decembers of 1880, 1886, 1897, 1909, 1915, 1920, 1926, 1937, 1943, 1948, 1954, 1965, and 1971 started on a Wednesday.
But still this can be narrowed further.
When Santa set out that Christmas Eve, we see what appears to be an almost full Moon in the sky. Within the years listed, only 1920 had a full Moon on Christmas.
Ergo, 1920 was the year without a Santa Claus.
“I don’t need friends, they disappoint me”
“Honey, you’ve got a big storm coming!”
HUSK HOLDING FAT NUGGETS NOOOOOOO!!! He looks so sad (as does fat nuggets) he just wants his boyfriend back 😭
Okay but there's no way that Valentino didn't abuse Nugs when he lived in the studio, right?
And the only other person we see Nugs interacting with (besides Angel), is Cherri - and it would make sense for him to feel safe around her, since she's been Angel's friend for Satan knows how long.
So, I feel like it says a lot that he's so trusting of Husk. He's very fucking comfortable in his presence, clearly, and it's giving me so many feelings.
