its all about the jaws and the paws
i said the jaws!
and the paws!
and just a little bit of style
“TMA/TME is segregation!” Fascinating comparison from a cracker. critically, it’s not TMA folks doing the segregating and it’s not TME folks experiencing the negative effects of segregation, it’s TMA folks having words to describe our societal segregation and TME folks punishing us for not shutting up and taking it.
every time someone says something stupid in relevance to AGAB or segregation/dividing the community, im just going to continue to point to this graph. nothing about those arguments makes a lick of sense when you look at this graph. TMA/TME is used to describe the oppression a small minority experiences societally and if you have a problem with that, then it’s a personal problem & you need to self-reflect & ask why that is

Every time I read a book on abolition i sit here like “damn what people do to transfemmes really is just a direct reproduction of the carceral state as a subset of white supremacy and the liberation of transfemmes is directly tied to abolitionism”
“In the late 1600s, officials there legally mandated that every white man between sixteen and sixty join the militia, and legally empowered every white person to arrest, punish, and return runaways. White civilians were not only encouraged to monitor and control Black people, but were *required* to do so—sometimes under the threat of being fined. The government criminalized people for *not* policing.”
—Derecka Purnell, Becoming Abolitionists
Directly compare this to the current culture in predominantly US American spaces of constant surveillance of transfemmes to punish us the moment we slip up, once we prove we aren’t “one of the good ones”. It’s a direct evolution of this same colonial expectation to the point it’s done “naturally” even when not directly expected after generations of it being part of the US’s social contract.
Trans women ain’t gettin free as long as we live in a carcerally focused society, and the liberation of trans women ain’t happening without accompanied racial—especially Black—liberation and abolishment of slavery, including prisons and other carceral locales.
Angela Davis talks about this too - connecting the current inability to recognize trans women as women with the historic inability to recognize black women as women and the specific systems and reasoning for both being the same.
can I just say that we all owe Kojima an apology for Metal Gear Solid 2? He looked right into the camera and said “the future of information control will not be censorship, it will be drowning people in trivial noise and misinformation until people partition themselves into their own separate realities” in TWO THOUSAND AND ONE. Three years before Facebook existed. Kojima gave us the biggest Babe-Ruth-pointing-at-the-sky called shot of all time and we weren’t ready for it.

RPG where it's very easy to overcome all of the bosses nonviolently through correct dialogue choices, but actually doing so locks you into the bad ending; in order to get the good ending, you need to do a bunch of obtuse side quests in order to goad them into fighting you.
#honestly this sounds fun #gimme the options #i wanna know what my choices are #how ambivalent can i be? #but also it's so much funnier that this concept makes violence the correct answer (via @cuzosu-blog)
Yeah, you could definitely play a scenario where violence is the morally correct answer for laughs, but you don't have to.
If you wanted to play it straight, one might imagine a game about fighting a fascist state where all of the bosses are The One Good Nazi types with very sympathetic, human reasons for collaborating with the regime – there's the Sad Dad who's only committing mass murder because they're holding his kid hostage, the idealist who genuinely believes they can reform the system from the inside, the moral coward who rationalises their atrocities as harm reduction because if they quit, whoever replaced them would be even worse, etc. – and all of the talky nonviolent options for dealing with them involve compromising the player character's principles.
The final boss is naturally a totally unsympathetic Hitler 2.0 type, but before you can fight him he hits you with the old Mustapha Mond monologue, and if you've let even one of his buddies off the hook, he turns the tables on the conversation-fu trope and persuades the player character to stand down.
The achievement for getting the good ending is, of course, titled "The Only Good Nazi Is A Dead Nazi".

cats love sleeping on or next to you and slowly bake you like an oven roast chicken
i will never risk saying this in an actual gaming server but I don't think constantly screaming out of anger when you're playing is good
if a game is making you so angry that you have to scream, dusturbing the whole house and distressing your teammates maybe close the game and go cool your head and i mean this in the nicest most literal way possible
