Name: Shepard
Date of origin: 1997
More about my LGBTQ identity: Annoyingly bisexual, genderqueer trans werewolf in a secondhand skirt. TME. Neither man nor woman. Probably best to consider me agender or neuter, but gendered colloquial/slang terms like guy and bro and girl and sis are all fine and dandy. In serious contexts I just prefer being called a person or an individual.
I use they/them or he/him. You don’t have to alternate, in fact, please don’t, that’s wicked confusing for me!! I’m just open to either.
Other: White USAmerican. Nontraditional college student, largely pursuant of physical geography / biogeography as well as museum studies. Absolutely obsessed with birds. Neurodivergent and proud. Leftist.
Socials: Ehhh broadly I try to use social media as little as possible. I’m most reachable on Discord or Bluesky, both as shepfax.
Things to know:
Thanks to my careful notification filters and my unparalleled ability to forget legitimately important things, let’s just say my inbox isn’t exactly open or closed. If you reach out via ask or tumblr messenger there’s a substantial chance I’ll miss it. Try Discord if you need me fast or just wanna chat about something which is always welcome :)
I’d generally prefer not having minors follow me here because I reblog very adult humor and mature content regularly. That said I’m always open to answer educational questions and field curiosity from people of all ages. I’ve been out as trans since I was a wee teenager in 2012 and I’ve acted as a mentor to people younger and older than me exploring gender identity before, so I want to empower people at all stages of their journey!
If I reblog from someone known to be shitty please let me know. I’m not active enough in Tumblr spaces to know all the latest dickheads in circulation, sorry.
Above all else, this blog is just for me to post about whatever I’m passionate about. It’s all over the place thematically, I’ve been on Tumblr for 15 fucking years and it’s still not curated at all lmao. My ass has been on this site since 2011 and I have changed a lot so if you’ve been following me since I was 13… you’re a tough cookie and I hope you’re doing well.
As for a “DNI” (list of people you don’t want interacting with your blog) I think they’re essentially pointless since people love to just ignore them. But if you’re a zionist, a terf/febfem/transmisogynist, a radical inclusionist/radqueer, pro-paraphilia, or consider the terms transabled or transautistic acceptable, then you need to stay the fuck away from me.
Anyway. Enough of that. Check out my fursona.
This is Mira. They're a cat + monster + demon + reptile thing. Below are some awesome pics of them courtesy of my friends!

While you're here, my father is wracked with pain, his strength waning, and he's suffering terribly. I wanted to remind you, Yan, that your donation can provide much-needed help and support to my father, who sees death before his eyes every second. Please donate and help keep him alive. Please.
I will not forgive anyone who sees this post and ignores it, who hears about my father's situation and doesn't donate. Please help us and donate. Your donations are our only hope in life. My father, my family, and I are suffering greatly, and your donations are our only lifeline. Please donate.
Please help us. We are a family and we don't want to see any of our members die before our eyes. The situation here in Gaza is extremely difficult, the bombing never stops, and every day there are martyrs. I implore you to donate to us and give whatever you can. We urgently need 3500 euros to reach our goal. Please contribute any amount and help us reach it.
Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.
If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.
Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
people will live in racially/ethnically homogenous european countries and say "native americans benefit from being in the imperial core" meanwhile native americans have had to endure centuries of genocides and displacement. meanwhile native americans are victimized at sky-high rates despite comprising a fraction of a sliver of the population in america. meanwhile a woman in my city was just indicted for embezzling $400k in funds that was supposed to go to improvement and maintenance of tribal lands.
yeah fucking yes. or the extreme and worsening epidemic of violence, murder and kidnapping against Native women
Non-Native men who assault or murder Native American women on reservations cannot be arrested or prosecuted by tribal authorities under a 1978 Supreme Court decision known as Oliphant v. Suquamish Indian Tribe (Bleir & Zoledziowski, 2018).

The alarming rates of abduction and murder of Native women represent one of the most devastating issues facing Tribal communities. On some reservations, Native women face murder rates more than ten times the national average.
Or the fact that half of Native households on reservations lack clean drinking water or adequate sanitation
Lack of access to clean drinking water is a significant barrier for many Native American communities. According to data from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Native American households are 19 times more likely than white households to lack indoor plumbing.
And many also don't have electricity
According to the World Bank's "Access to Electricity" index, 100% of the U.S. population has electricity. The federal government's own data tells a different story. The Department of Energy's "Tribal Energy Access" study found that Tribal households nationwide face an energy burden 28% above average, and an estimated 17,000 Tribal homes have no electricity at all — affecting at least 54,000 people. That's a small fraction of the total U.S. population, but a significant one.
Utilities weigh the cost of delivering power against expected revenue, and for remote areas — including many reservations — the math often discourages investment. As a result, families can wait years, even decades, for a grid connection. NPR reports that some Native American families on vast reservations like the Navajo Nation face exactly that kind of wait, driven by connection costs averaging $40,000 per home, sparse populations, and decades of underinvestment.
Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.
