I’ve been gradually losing the inspiration to make art for years. I can’t tell you the last time I actually finished something I could be proud of.

I moved into college recently, and realized how much I missed just creating. These little drawings were the first time in so long I was actually excited to make art. I think it’s okay to be a little self indulgent, staying up late to color my warrior cats ocs with Crayola pencils

I think it’s interesting how people compare The Judge from Blood Meridian and AM from I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. One story showing the inherent cruelty of human nature, the other the indomitable human spirit. Both are very negative stories but I feel like the morals are very different

Omg I’d love to see Tsunami or Glory redesigned!! Your Peril design is so clever I love it 💕

two people ( @emeralddragonparagon and indigo) requested Glory this week, so here she is! thank you guys so much for the overwhelming support for these designs :3 they really took off!

Glory's design was a little difficult but very rewarding! I wanted to design her to fit with the present day in wof, where she's been queen for a little while and had time to settle in + grow into her role. She has a green/brown crown that fits under her ears, as well as some layered beaded jewelry which are inspired by the Uth Duna outfit from Monster Hunter Wilds. I wanted to make her look more regal/royal than she currently does, so I used a lot of patterns on top of the accessories.

For her scales, I liked the idea of Glory's pattern alluding to her somewhat prickly personality from the first arc, as well as leaving traces of her friends in her design - a sun on her shoulder, water-like patterns on part of her wing, amber/brown talons etc... it would be nice if Glory presented her scales with them in mind, considering she doesn't get to see the other DoD often.

how would u redesign Moon

I actually made this a while ago, here's my Moon redesign!

Her design might be a little on the nose, but I have Moon a ton of moon-themed patterns and shapes, as well as a few odd stars! She's wearing Qibli's earring and a few other pieces of silver star jewelry, as well as a small pouch for odd trinkets. Additionally, I decided to make her well-muscled and very healthy compared to other nightwings of her age since she canonically had better access to food/water because she was born in the rainforest, and is described to be a good hunter. Her teardrop scale is obstructed by the glasses, but don't worry - I didn't forget!

A lot of this design is based purely off the vibe moon gives me... I always imagined her with a green color scheme and the glasses because it just felt right. I really love Moonwatcher. She grew on me a lot during my second time reading through the jade mountain arc, and tbh guys I wish she got with Kinkajou instead. No hate to the other ships!

Hey, can u do Tsunami?!

Of course I can! Here's my Tsunami redesign:

I don't often do these and question whether or not I've finally strayed so far off canon that the character is unrecognizable, but Tsunami's redesign is so crazy I'm actually scared for my life. I have a lot of explaining to do.

First and foremost, all of the dominant colors have been changed: Tsunami now rocks green undertones (inherited from Gill) (R.I.P) and some orange scales, which she would have received from (redesigned) Queen Coral who has coral colors in my head. In an effort to make these contrasting colors work, I lightened them a lot and made her main scale color a deep navy! The parental similarities don't stop there: Tsunami has coral-shaped horns and extra webs on her talons and tail, along with some big frills on her spine. I also moved her glowing scales to be predominately on her underbelly + forearms/webs, as I thought it was more harmonious with those lighter colors. And I gave her the chubbiness she deserves: her build now reflects her strength as a fighter!

Finally, Tsunami's dominant patterns are swirls and waves, meant to resemble a literal Tsunami or curl of a wave. I think this design suits her much more, and gives her a first impression that truly matches her character.
