Bebe paused once she realized what she said. It had been a habit for her to say or blurt out how she felt. No matter how good of a feeling, or bad, she always had a need to say something. If she kept things to herself for to long, it would ache. At least, that’s how she felt about it.
She just couldn’t understand, why with all of this time that has passed, she still couldn’t change her best friend’s parents view about her. Bebe could tell when someone didn’t enjoy her company, and that wasn’t something she would really experience everyday. Most folks really liked Bebe, and as hard as she tried not to get used to it, it seemed impossible for her. She remembered the first day of high school, when she realized that middle school was completely different. You need people to survive this town, if anyone hated you, anything could happen, considering the town they live in. Redeeming herself was her goal all throughout sophomore year, and she completed it. She now has more friends then what she thinks she can handle. Which to say the least, wasn’t a bad thing, but at times it can become overwhelming for her.
The blonde continued to walk with her companion, not having an exact location to stop. She mostly wanted to roam around uptown, hopefully to see something new. God knows how the town needed it. “Well, if her interrogation gets to intense, you could always have her call my dad.” Wendy’s parents might have not enjoyed Bebe’s company, but she knew her parents had a lot of trust onto her father. He was their lawyer after all. “My dad’s on a business trip anyway, it’s not like we have surveillance cameras.” She yawned, flipping her hair to the side, as she led their steps to a near bench. “This is what’s going to happen-” Bebe started while sitting down, patting the seat next to her. “I will call my dad, and text you afterwards. Then you’ll tell your mom to call my dad. Which she will, then my dad will call my mom, who by the way– also isn’t home. And my mom will call me, to remind me to feed the pets and water the plants. Oh, and to be careful and what not- y’know, mom stuff.” She giggled, “And then my mom will call my dad to confirm, while after my dad will call your mom, and your mom will let you go. And the next thing you know, we’ll be at Josh– ..I mean, Jason’s party.” Bebe crossed her legs, taking another bite of her froyo. “And those are the facts.”
Bebe would go to any lengths to help those she cares about, and Wendy just happened to be one of the first on that list. After a bit of silence passed, Wendy’s question was out in the open and bebe knew exactly how to answer it. She never liked it when Wendy was upset, even if it was a little bit. So she tried to avoid that at all possible cost. “Wendy, It’s like you don’t even know me, c’mon. Do you really think that I care about your parents liking me? I have teachers that don’t like me, and they have a bigger impact on my future than your parents. And yet, I couldn’t care less. They have nothing to use against me, so there’s no reason for me to care in the first place.” She was speaking half of the truth, but there was no doubt that she cared if someone liked her. It just felt strange for her if they didn’t enjoy her presence. She’s tried so hard to change, and she felt it was a waste if people did do their part.
“Trust me when I say, the only person I care about liking me, is you.” She couldn’t help but grin once she said those words.
