Posted this to Twitter yesterday, made it right after watching the video. I can't express the pain this has brought to me.

I had really hoped I would meet him one day. And while I have always loved chronically ill content creators, and known the risks of their passings, my own high risk for cancer and my current chronic illness led me to love Techno more than I can express.

He'll still live on forever in our memories.

I still wanna draw him all the time. He looks like, in character form, the imaginary friend I had when I was 2-5. I started a cosplay jacket for his character a long time ago. I think I'm gonna finish it.

He never saw my old letter, but I hope he knew how much I adored him. One friend said I was too critical of his work sometimes, but I really did love all of it...

I think like, the death of Vine and Rabbit, Wikipedia constantly needing to beg for money, Discord depending so heavily on venture capital, Facebook turning towards spying on users to generate a return on all the venture capital that got them started, Adobe creative suite turning into a subscription rather than a single product you buy, the strangulation of streaming entertainment as every company pulls their content and makes it exclusive to their service, are all great examples of how like, it really doesn’t matter if something is legitimately useful, efficient, or beloved, it is next to impossible for a service to exist if it doesn’t make shareholders increasing amounts of money year after year. Which may seem like a “no duh” type of statement, but it’s a very simple window into how the profit motive makes products and services worse, not better. And how that’s not just a matter of certain companies or ceos being bad and greedy on an individual level, but is an inescapable factor of an economy where existence is dependent on generating capital.

It’s about white people, even well-intentioned white allies, being too comfortable in their privilege and not learn more about the complex beliefs of civil right leader MLK Jr other than his “I have a dream” speech. MLK Jr. talked extensively about American Imperialism, Capitalism, and White Fragility/Complicity throughout his career and activism, which most Liberal white allies won’t share because they’re too comfortable with the white lies they were taught in schools.

here’s the hilarious thing about calling this “guilt tripping.” the psychological definition of a “guilt trip” is an UNJUSTIFIED feeling of guilt induced in someone else. um, what about anything here said about white people that’s “unjustified” or baseless? we’ve got over 400yrs of evidence to back up our statements about white people. we even got studies, research and stats. none of which shows what @dreamyblackchild said to be false.
