BIG RUN SAFETY GUIDE!
Hello, everyone! Caspian Ishikawa from the C-Six here, ready to help everyone out during our current BIG Big Run! Remember, during these situations, your biggest concern should be your own safety, not just collecting the most eggs!
GrizzCo shifts are dangerous, I should know. I picked up the job a while back before the C-Six was started up, just to keep me and my sister afloat in our old apartment before things changed for the better. I racked up a whole lot of cash while working, despite all the injuries. However, that's not the point right now, let's go ahead into our safety guide!
1. KEEP CALM.
With a red sky above, running around all terrified isn't gonna keep you safe! Make sure you help everyone in need, no matter what the current situation is for either of you.
2. BE PREPARED.
Make sure to block all openings that Salmonids can come through, such as windows and doors, and carry whatever weapons you have at the moment. Try your best to block everything out, and if there's multiple people in your house, keep up the teamwork in order for you all to stay safe!
Just to be more careful, remember to close up the toilet, sink and any other place that's connected to the sewers, since Small Fry are notorious for getting lost in pipes and can easily make their way into your house from it.
3. DO NOT GO TO TURF WARS.
"But Caspian, I always do Turf War battles!" I understand that! Shellby loves them too, but please don't do it for now! We don't want anyone being harmed in the process, as Salmonids invade these places. It's not always that common to encounter the Salmonids, but you don't wanna get splatted, right? Exactly.
4. DO NOT GET HIRED DURING THIS TIME.
As an experienced GrizzCo employee, I can confirm for all of you that we don't get paid better for partaking in Big Runs. It really sucks, but it's just another reason why you shouldn't go for a shift if you aren't already working there!
5. DO NOT FOCUS ON GOLDEN EGGS.
We all get it, you're trying to each your quota so you don't fail or get fired, but please don't overdo it! Your main priority is keeping almost everyone in Inkopolis, Splatsville and anywhere else (depending on your location) from getting splatted! If your teammates are getting jumped, help them out! It probably will only take, like, a few seconds!

Tips for food during a Big Run
I might not have gone through a big run myself, but I’ve seen my fair share of severe floods to know what’s up. If you’re gonna be hit by the upcoming run, please read this!
Luckily, the main event of a big run only lasts two days, but there’s a chance the power could go out for upwards of two weeks (though one week is more likely). In terms of food, you shouldn’t need apocalypse-level survival— you don’t need three shelves of canned food like in the movies.
I’d recommend stalking up on things you won’t need to heat up or refrigerate/freeze (bread, chips, etc.), plus a bag of ice to keep anything already in your fridge/freezer cold during a power cut. Again, you should only need a one-week supply max, but shoot for two just in case. Also, there’s a high chance the salmonids’ ink seeps into the water system, so DEFINITELY stock up on water.
If you think you’ll absolutely NEED to heat up food and you have a specifically gas stove, you could get a lighter or matches to manually ignite the gas during an outage (just remember to light it as soon as you turn the gas on so it doesn’t blow up…)
My notes on Grand Run
Only the cannons closest to the basket ensure a 100% egg-in-basket rate; cannons on the outskirts of the stage have a lower rate of doing so
High-Tide Glowflies will produce the most amount of eggs, especially if you have a Grizzco Roller
Goldies will spawn during the triumvirate battle and to my knowledge drop the max amount of eggs when killed
The lesser salmonids are able to jump up into ledges you didn’t think they could
It’s 10:00 pm EST as I write this and we’re already at ~90,000,000 eggs (great hustle inkfish)
Normal tide is the most optimal condition to fight the triumvirate
Tips for beating the Triumvirate in the current Big Run:
- Yeet the eggs! You don't even really need to aim. Chances are there's a ton of eggs just lying around (well, at least on hazard level max) and with three giant fish on the map you'll always hit something
- Ignore Horrorboros! Well, mostly. Megalodontia will take care of it for you because it's attacks damage the other King Salmonids (and kill regular bosses). You can lead Megalo to the other Kings if it targets you but because especially Horrorboros is giant (and the map small in comparison) that's probably not even necessary.
- Grizz Slosher and Splatana can kill armored bosses! This is more general advice. If fully charged the Grizz Splatana can instakill Steelhead, Flyfish and Drizzler even when they're not in their vulnerable state. Same goes for the Slosher. How do you reach the Flyfish with the Splatana which has absolutely no range? I have no fishing clue. But it seems to be possible.
