CrÚme brûlée is heaven on earth
I'm at a mildish point of sleep deprivation where if I sit still for too long, I dream vividly about being with people I know. More vividly than I've ever dreamt normally, and it feels sort of wonderful. I might start using tumblr again soon (not that I really every used it much), so I apologize for making this sort of post. I watched Amelie yesterday. I've been told it's the one French film most English people have watched and feel culturally enlightened for doing so. I don't really care. I learned two piano pieces from it's soundtrack before I even knew it existed. They're the only mildly good things I can play. I watched half of it in a French lesson are school. Now I've seen it all. And it was beautiful. I don't want to quote the main quote from the film, but I loved that too. Maybe it is uninspired to appreciate other's work, especially that which is already appreciated by many people. Perhaps it is snobby to talk like that and about crÚme brûlée. Amelie liked cracking the crust on it, and I do too. Today was the first time I ate it. It was beautiful too. Today is a beautiful day. Thank-you to everyone that made it happen. I'm too tired to be more literate than this.
Why is there never anyone I can walk to in the middle of the night?
Dashad Smith, 19, also known as Sage, Sagey and Unique, was last seen Nov. 20, in the 500 block of West Main Street in Charlottesville. Smith was last seen wearing a black jacket, dark-gray sweatpants, a black scarf and gray boots, police said.
Smith was supposed to meeting a man for a...
hereâs the real question, what the fuck does it matter what their sexual orientation is?
one thing iâll never get about people that fight for homosexual/whateverthefuckpeoplecallitthesedays is why they feel the need to point out who is or isnât.
actually, only 4% of the population id as gay, lesbian, bisexual or trans. granted perhaps more youths id as lgbt because their generation experience less stigma, but there are still definitely more queer youths who are homeless than would be expected. homelessness is a queer issue and a race issue. 41% of black trans people have been homeless. this is important because queer homeless people need services that take into account their identity- a homeless transgender woman froze to death after being rejected by a shelter BECAUSE she was trans. being queer is CAUSING people to be homeless. arenât the CAUSES of homelessness important?
can i get a Tl;DR of this, because i donât want to waste my time reading what you said just to be dissapointed by how little it has to do with my statement and probably just has to do with pointing out what part of the population is gay and isnât, AGAIN.
iâll put it more briefly: i disagree with you, because being gay impacts on whether youâre homeless, it impacts on what happens once you are homeless. thatâs why it matters. when there are 10x more homeless youth who are lgbt than should be expected, that shows you that their sexualities arenât private issues, itâs a societal issue.Â
shouldnât we just focus on the fact that theyâre homeless though? does it really matter what their sexuality is? the way i look at it is this, i donât fucking care what your sexuality is or the colour of your skin, if youâre homeless then youâre homeless and something should be done about it. categorizing the homeless community will not help to reduce it in any way shape or form, and itâs the exact same with every other issue in the world. creating a statistic will not solve the problem.
"creating statistics" gives us information. Information is useful, especially when trying to solve a problem. Doing "something" about homelessness is all very good, but certain facts can help the "something" be more effective and long-term. As someone very validly pointed out to you, (regardless of where you are in the world) different demographics can need different services to cater for them when they are homeless. Statistics such as this (contrary to your original point about more straight people being homeless) show that being LGBT makes you more likely to be homeless. So to reduce homelessness, it is clear that more support for LGBT people is needed. Is this not obvious?
life?
Apparently some people use tumblr to talk about how they feel and such, so I thought I might. I have a very simple question for any disparate individuals lying out there in the world who might answer me. What should I do with my life?
I'm about to start my second year of college (in the uk) and will be applying to university soon. I'm quite intelligent, academically. I have done some a-levels early and things, but nothing remarkable. I sometimes like to think that I'm perceptive and good at learning and understanding things. I'm particularly good at maths, but also sciences in general. Philosophy and physics are interesting. But maybe the world has enough of that already and needs social scientists, or doctors? I like writing and reading, and I want to change the world.
That sounds silly, I know. I want to make things better for people, it would be nice to do something "brilliant", whatever that means. If I'm clever I want to do whatever clever thing it is the world needs me to do. I don't like capitalism, or money, and I lose things a lot and feel useless. Talking to people is scary.
So yeah, what to do? I know it's my life and I should make my own decisions, but I really like advice and the way it conveniently gives other people's views on things, which I value intently. Thank you.

I am writing a book on how to write a book so I can learn how to properly explain why you look better with the lights on. I listen to a song but it doesnât mention your name so I stop listening to the song. Your heart is noise pop. White noise is ghosts missing the streamers that fall from your ears while you sing in the car. Vermont is not far if you are already in Vermont. My cat looks at me and then walks away. He is named either after a famous musician or a body of water. There are so many words I refuse to learn how to spell. Still, I spell check your thighs after I bend you over my desk. I spell check the inside of your left ear while you bite yourself on the kitchen table. Prostrate. Today I am writing in grunts, I am playing in fonts. My chest hair is size 44 Comic Sans. My eyebrows are whittled away before I leave the mall. I have sat under the same sun as you for 25 years. Sometimes I have walked under the same sun as you. Once, I played tennis under the same sun as you. Repetition sun. Staccato sun. Wrinkled sun. I tell your skin that covers your clavicle Weâve got at least 53 more years of holding hands on a bench under the same sun. The sequel to this poem is John Cusack holding a boombox over his head under barely any sun. Fact: I want to kiss your nose even when Iâm not inside you.
