My favourite hc is that Richard is actually such an uncanny-valley person to everyone else around him because of his eyes. Like when someone meets him at first he’s fine: nice, a bit shy, maybe a bit quirky, but he’s like any other guy. And then when they start noticing him from a distance, he’s so uncanny. He has a slouch, how he answers to things, how he reacts, which are all fairly just weird. But it’s his eyes. He has this perpetual widened empty stare, with the dark pupils framed by the white of his eyes. And even when he smiles or does any other expression with the rest of his face, his eyes just stare. They don’t move, they don’t emote with the rest of him. It’s the reason why the Greek class was so drawn to him, yet there’s still that underlying unsettling feeling he gives off that makes them squirmish

It's soooo true that the only reason Richard has any kind of emotions is because he's learned to have them, rather than actually having them...and then like..when he actually DOES have visceral emotion it's why he always gets so weird n shit bcs it's not within his 'taught' range of emotions. And then in the mornings he's still waking up and so his 'taught' emotions haven't caught up to him yet..

I love Richard but he was so delusional in thinking he could fake being from a wealthy background. This honestly isn’t something you could just lie about.

I know it was his desperation to be included but he didn’t even take the time to make it more well constructed. I mean these people have a way about them and can tell sometimes. Even if could fake that, there was no way he could’ve faked his material of clothes and the limit of money he had. He was really there thinking his lie was holding all the while looking like a dumbass.

And the fact that not wearing a bra is so discouraged and stigmatized that people think the movement was about being able to go braless under your shirt in public rather than about being able to not wear a shirt at all says a lot about how far we've backslid in the past decade
