It appears that the fan-favorite Supernatural dramedy #SurrealEstate has been cancelled by Syfy a second time and will not be continuing to a fourth season.

SurrealEstate is one show that I think really understands what it is and what it's doing like not many shows do that, so many shows are figuring themselves out throughout their run but SurrealEstate is the greatest case of "what's on the label" i've ever seen (this got really long so put it all under the cut)
I just need everyone to go and watch this show right now okay it's on Hulu so please. Do yourselves a favor.
it's a show about real estate agents who sell haunted houses and "haunted" can mean so many things. The main characters are a Realtor Who Communes With Spirits; a Realtor With Telekinesis; a former Priest who researches the history of the houses and understands what's going on withe them; a former NASA engineer who is the smartest man in the world who builds machines to take care of the things doing the haunting; a 20-something secretary who's trying to figure out what she wants to do in life; and also more recently a Realtor named after a Greek tragedy character who talks to herself when she's stressed and whose subconscious talks back to her.
and each of them, in every episode, support the other in different ways, every single one of them knows who they are and what they are, in spite of normal character development things. which is probably why their character development feels so Good.
Luke starts the series off as a guy with a special talent of selling houses that have special problems. his journey through s1-3 are about growing and building more for himself, to stop letting that one ability define him and everything he does.
Susan starts the series off by hiding her abilities because they've always caused problems for her in the past, coming off a bad breakup, and quitting a very good and stable job where she was running things her own way. Her journey through the seasons have been about learning to give up control and let people help her when she needs it. she learns to trust the processes of others, and defer to their judgement when needed instead of trying to be The Expert in every single thing all the time. She learns to be a human, really, instead of walking A+ Grade.
Phil starts his journey as still cynical from his decision to leave the church, even though he knew it was right for himself. He talks about how he misses it, still, how comforting it was for him and how he sometimes wishes he had that comfort back, even though he knew staying would be worse for him. He learns to open his heart, build a family, and even return to do the work for the Church that he missed, learns to blend all the areas of his life together into something Good.
Auggie starts the series as just the Tech Guy who can quote anything and everything from memory, he always has a quote for every occasion and his journey includes finding love for himself years after his wife died, to find life outside of his work, to find companionship and meaning when he feels like there's no need for him in his work anymore. And his journey concludes with him appreciating the people and the love in his life.
Zooey starts her journey as just the secretary who's bored of everything around her and doesn't have any direction she wants to go in. Her journey was about finding purpose and passion, with many failed attempts along the way! Her journey allowed her to open up to her coworkers, to lean on them and find friendship and comfort and support in them, and still chooses to leave them because she, and all of them, knew that was what was best for her. She still comes by and helps when and where she can, because those are her people!!!!
Lomax starts her journey one season later than the others, but she is just like the rest of them, even though she might not realize it right away. One of her first episodes includes her writing a resignation letter and burning it to get it out of her system. She thinks the place is insane! She thinks they're all crazy! And they kinda are!! But she learns to deal with that craziness not because she's somehow uniquely equipped to (though her growing up with parents as funeral directors is a leg up for her) but also because she realizes that she cares about these people, and more than that she cares about the people they work with.
Each season and each episode of each season brings on unique Characters Of The Week with their own problems that this team solves, and we see each and every one of them shine through. Every single character on this show learns about themselves by working together. They recognize themselves through each other and it's the most important part of the show. This isn't just about the ghosts and spirits that linger in their listings, but it's also about how a group of people take the time to help these ghosts and spirits and poltergeists and what-have-yous and in the process learn how to be more Human themselves. The dead are dead and The Roman-Ireland Agency's business is in helping the dead let go and move on, and in the process they learn how to live and appreciate their lives. And I just think it's the best show in the world because they do it with the best balance of humor and drama and sincerity that I just haven't seen in so very long everyone please go watch this show immediately.
a full fledged co-conspirator even. the realtor splits the commission with the house, which uses its cut to get asbestos removal, granite countertops, plumbing renovations you name it. the key being the House desires these things for its self. not for its *shudders* occupants.
it's a strong independent entity! it doesn't need a relationship (with freeloaders who scuff its floors). it's single and KILLIN IT! and by "it" let's just say. heh. an entire upper middle class white suburban family
so I’ve decided, good or not, that I’m going to get into SurrealEstate, a SeeFee(SyFy) show about a medium real estate agency specializing in “stigmatized properties” (haunted houses). I caught the last half of a recent season-3 episode last night, & while it did not seem good, the premise is sufficiently appealing that I’ll watch at least a season. Sorry to the uh. SurrealEstateheads of tumblr. Perhaps I’ll be converted though. After Evil (CBS) I need a new ghost show.
