My look as Aunt Martha, Malkavian Primogen for tonight's 3 Session of the 3rd Chronicle of the Austin Vampire LARP. By the end of the night the Prince (who Martha believed was her Nephew though he really wasn't) was deposed and killed with a car bomb and she was removed as Malkavian Primogen for backing him.
Went and got my hair redone in prep for the Vampire LARP this weekend. I really love how deep the red is. I opted for the permanent color on the red this time as opposed to the brighter, more vibrant semi-permanent I usually go with and honestly, I like this color better.
There are days you just pick up a silly bit of macabre home decor for fun. I am calling her Beth.
This Weekend!
This weekend is the 3rd session of the 3rd Chronicle of the Austin Vampire LARP and I am so excited! My character is named Aunt Martha. She's the Malkavian Primogen and a creepy monster. Her whole deal is that she's got an attachment disorder and sees unrelated people as her family. She is utterly devoted to her 'Family' and will do anything for them. She sees the increasingly tyrannical Prince as her nephew. Martha is also a Mistress of Memory alteration and driving people mad with her ability to control minds. She used to use this to insert herself into families and convince them she had always been there, always been their dear Aunt Martha (hence her sobriquet). She also tends to feed on her "family". This is a pic of Martha from the first game where she was 'elected' the Primogen of the Malkavians turned into a meme.
(She is the pool of darkness there) She tends to dress in rather Victorian mourning fashion as her mortal backstory involves having once been a very content Wife and Mother who lost both of her sons to the trenches of the Great War and her husband to the Spanish Flu Epidemic of 1918. This is the root of her issues with finding family. Here is pic of Martha from Game 2.
She was partially burned. Her nephew, the Prince, asked her to use her powers to turn a group of mortals into fanatical hunters to attack her as justification for creating a secret police force called The Order of the Violet Crown. She did a little too good of a job and ended up having her fake hunters burn down her office with her in it. Ooops. Anyway, excited to step into the shoes (and hats) of Aunt Martha once more. Oh and one of the fun parts of our Chronicle is the setting. This one is set in the past, the distant year of 1997. It's fun to be in a game without ubiquitous cell phones, before the advent of google.

Ok, I have to appreciate how this add for a Ouija board from probably the 1920s plays into the Egyptomania of the time by calling is an Egyptian Luck Board when it was invented in Baltimate, Maryland in 1891. There had been precursors to the Ouija board with various pendulums and forms of automatic writing that all work with the ideomotor effect but with specific use of the term Ouija spawned from the Spiritualism crave of the 19th Century and was then patented in 1891. No Egyptian Ties whatsoever.
