Just something that happened recently in the Myth Of The Machine server as the update was happening, some of us need to be wary of the misogyny and hate that happens daily in the community towards the female characters, especially Shelly.

There's nothing I feel I need to point out here that I and two of my friends haven't already pointed out in the screenshots, but we need to pay closer attention to this issue in the community as a whole, I feel disappointed to see people treat the female characters this way simply because they are women or older than the main male characters.

#coming back to myth for a bit #I will say that I know for a fact that those people that come and say “she is a grown woman”#WOULD. HAVE. NOT. SAID. A DAMNED THING #IF SHELLY WAS A MAN #IN FACT #I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT IF SHELLY WAS A MAN PEOPLE THIS UPDATE COULD HAVE BEEN NOT ONLY LESS LOUD #BUT ALSO THE COULD HAVEN BEEN SCREAMING “OMG YAOI YAOI YAOI”#but coming back to what is being talked about #people seriously need to check their biases because this cannot keep happening #we want women to have a fraction of all of the depth and 3d-ism that men have in media #but the second that a woman is something else than the mold media has put them in we trash on them because “that's not how a woman acts”#brother be for real #a woman is a human being #and humans are different #and humans make mistakes #so yes #Shelly is in the wrong for handling Bendy the way she did #Shelly is a woman that made a mistake #but if I know something about myth and how it handles it's characters #is that shelly will learn her mistake and she will be better #because if there's something that a woman that a human can do is learn from her mistakes #myth of the machine #motm #babmotm #spook the bag boy

Gooseworx didn't deactivate, she was banned

Recently, you cannot access Gooseworx's blog anymore, and people thought she deactivated her Tumblr. However, she was actually banned. When someone deactivates their main blog, a string of numbers and letters is attached to their username: "-deactivated[year][month][day]"

When you look at posts made by Gooseworx, there's no "deactivated" and no numbers

Some speculate that this might have been a sideblog, since there's no "deactivated" string if you delete a sideblog, but it was her main blog. You can't use sideblogs to like posts. If you search "Gooseworx liked this" on google, you will find proof ithat she liked multiple Tumblr posts.

All of this adds up to one thing: Gooseworx was banned from Tumblr. And why? Gooseworx is a trans woman, and Tumblr staff hates trans women and bans them for no reason, and also, there is an ongoing harassment campaign against Gooseworx, so I bet they must have mass-reported her blog and gotten her banned. Fuck the "tadc critical" community, anyone in the "anti tadc" or "anti gooseworx" tags is NOT to be trusted!!!!!! They weaponized staff's transmisogyny to ban a successful trans woman off the platform all because the show didn't end the way they wanted it to.

Alright I have been enabled so I’m gonna say somethings.

Fatalistic sarcasm is a thing, however, it usually hides deep feelings of insecurity, and whether you consciously recognize this or not, it validates them. Seriously, I used to constantly make jokes about how other people’s work was better than mine, and it did nothing for my self-esteem, it was a tool to deflect from my own feelings of inferiority and it actively worked against me thinking critically about my own and other people’s work. If it was a joke I could put myself down instead of analyzing why someone’s work was better and trying to incorporate that into my own

As someone who took creative writing courses I was constantly surrounded by other brilliant people, if I hung my head in shame every time I read something as good or better than mine I never would have lifted it.

As someone who has watched a lot of writers with very good idea’s crash and burn I mean it when I say you either develop a healthy sense of respect for your own work or you stop writing.

There’s three things I really wish more people consider

1. Do you think their work is better because it’s a different style, one that you like? There’s an element to ‘the grass is greener on the other side’, I have seen people work in some amazing styles that I wished to god I could replicate, some I managed, some I never did, but there’s nothing wrong with either. having a different style Is Not the same as having a bad style, each has their own strengths and you can admire one without putting yours down

2. Knowing someone who is a better writer is a blessing and if they knew you were using their work to bring yourself down they would not be happy, mooch off that friend, analyze their work, ask them to edit your shit, as long as you’re not annoying them be shameless about it. the best thing creative writing did for me was give me the confidence to ask people to critic my work and shamelessly better each other for that sharing

3. People need to normalize being confident in their work, the quality of your work has literally nothing to do with your worth as a person, the quality of your work has nothing to do with your worth as a writer. You can write something really shitty and the only thing I’d say to you is that your trying and I respect you for that
