for those of you who don't know me, i'm concat_plays, a sims 3 content creator on youtube, twitch, insta, and tiktok!
sorry if this isn't how a typical tumblr post is made, i never use this site...😈
one of my most anticipated projects on my youtube channel is the full renovation of the lack luster base game sims 3 world, Sunset Valley!

after releasing the first version of the world (unpopulated) many people pointed out issues they were encountering in the world. now with the release of the populated version, all issues except for one has been fixed!
the only issue you should encounter in the populated version is the bathrooms for the seasonal festival lot being empty when the festivals come to town... other than that, all is good! (or at least i think it should)
the theme for the world as the name suggest is sunset valley but set 30 years later. the overall town vibe remains the same just a bit modernized!
the world itself requires every expansion pack, no stuff packs, has no cc, and requires three sims 3 store items but the store items are not a necessity and can all be easily replaced

i thought it would be fun if you could see some of the og sunset valley townies all grown up and living out their individual lives so expect to see a couple of familiar names around town as well as some new faces who have moved in throughout the years!
all of the households have a bio and lore written about them, the individual sims do not (this was wayyy too much work) and not only do the families have lore but the townies also have skills, jobs, and relationships with other sims.
the save file does use lots of cc hair for the sims! i have decided not to include a cc folder with the world download, i will instead include the cc creators and exact names of the cc collections i used! i tried keeping cc to a minimum and i hope listing it out like this helps!

drag and drop "Sunset Valley 30 Years Later. world" into program files OR program files (x86) -> ea games OR electronic arts -> the sims 3 -> gamedata -> shared -> non packaged -> worlds
install cc hair as you normally would!
IMPORTANT
unfortunately i could not figure out how to populate the world itself therefore in order for the townies to show up you MUST play in the save file that is provided in the download in order for the townies to show up
if you start a new game with the world itself through the main menu, the world WILL be empty, again you must play with the save file!
the save file is only a couple of minutes old meaning i started a new fresh game and only unpaused the game when i needed to switch households to edit relationships
your game will start off on sunday as usual, 9am as this was the closest to 8am i could get the save file to meaning the save file is basically new and should not be bloated
this will be my final edit of the world, although it is not perfect, im very excited for you all to enjoy the renovated version of sunset valley and the crazy lore all the townies have!

^ More Baby Interactions:
Improved the starting animation of the Rock interaction.
Added smoother transitions when a sim tucks in a toddler.
Added autonomy for bathing a baby in the all in one bathroom.
Cuddle interaction now gradually decreases a baby's energy need and shows the interaction in the queue for the baby.
Fixed the sleeping baby animation transition bug.

^ Kitchen Tweaks:
Fixed a script error that would occur when making a meal using the stove, microwave, grill, or food processor.
Added a setting to replace the Eat Leftovers interaction (by default it's set to true), in the case of having issues with it. If changed in-game, a restart is required.

^ Expanded Active Households/Homes Plus:
Fixed a bug where stayovers and daycare data would stop working on sims who got reset. It is required to re-add all daycares and stayovers after installing this update.
Sim notifications should now display the correct text when inviting a sim for a stayover.

Sims are no longer able to hand babies and toddlers over to animals.
Sims can no longer autonomously hand over a baby/toddler to a sim who is not in an autonomous interaction or if they aren't standing.

Hi guys! I made a post on Reddit comparing some of the most popular lighting mods for The Sims 3, and I thought I’d share it here on Tumblr for my first post.
I mainly did this for myself to see how each mod affects the Sims and the environment.
It’s not 100% accurate, since the position of your Sims can have a big effect on the lighting and many of these mods have unique colours/weather transitions over the course of each day.
All of my testing was done during Summer! Unfortunately, I was only able to add the EA lighting into my second comparison, which was strictly on Sims only.

Acadia is a world I've longed to explore for ages, yet I only downloaded it three months ago. It's based on Canada's east coast and actually comes with a bit of backstory that you can find in the doc provided by the creator. It features a rich variety of environments, with both terrain and scenery that feel incredibly realistic. From the traditional small-town center to cozy suburban neighborhoods, and even to more remote, rugged areas such as dense forests and long peninsulas, the landscape carries a quiet yet dignified beauty. My personal favorite spot is the peninsula shown in pic 4. Here, waves crash against a rocky shore beneath a picturesque lighthouse as seabirds soar and dive overhead. Deep evergreens and vibrant autumn foliage dot the area, creating a beautiful contrast with the turquoise waters that are both tranquil and inviting.
This world requires a lot of cc. Even though I installed everything listed, a few items were still replaced by default EA assets (yep the dreaded fence issue again. I had to manually fix them before taking the screenshots). Aside from that, this world is nearly flawless, capturing the dramatic scenery and rich culture of Atlantic Canada with breathtaking detail.

Three new categories have been added to the baking pie menu: Breads, Birthday Cakes, and Wedding Cakes.
There are 15 new recipes available for download (bringing the total baking recipe count to 100!!), including 4 new bread recipes for sims to bake, as listed below:
Pastries - Eclair, Kouign-Amaan (by Littlbowbub), and Pain au Chocolat
Savory - Spinach and Onion Quiche, and Spinach and Mushroom Quiche
Recipe levels, ingredients, and further requirements can be found on the mod download page under the header “Custom Recipes.”
Birthday and Wedding Cakes
This update adds support for both birthday cakes and wedding cakes with new pie menu options.
Birthday Cakes can be baked at Level 6 and Wedding Cakes can be baked at Level 9.
However, there are no birthday or wedding cake recipes included in the download.
I've added these pie menu options so other creators can make Baking Mod compatible versions of their cakes made with the Cake Connector mod.
For custom cake creators, please use one of the following prefixes at the beginning of your Recipe Key:
"TBMBakeBirthday"
"TBMBakeWedding"
Currently, birthday cakes and wedding cakes cannot be sold, but that is a feature I'm hoping to add in the future.

Gradient Sakura UI Edit for The S3 & Changed Seasonal & Lunar Icons
So I got this idea from the creator of the sweet dreams UI for the rainbow edit.. the rest of the UI is the same other than the icons for the seasonal and lunar phases I just decided to add some rainbow to the UI cause I thought it would look nice!

Just an assortment of various toys I've made over time mostly testing out ideas and getting the hang of basic custom object animations. The little ones need more toys in the game!
The script and animations are all in the MAIN file which you must have but you can pick and choose which toys you want and download them separately. Files that have the same tags means that you need to be downloaded together for the toy to function. There's also a collection file with all the items. Details and features for each toy after the cut.
Requires: University (only for the chalk set). There are some effects and sounds taken from Generations, Seasons, Late Night and the Titanic Toy Machine store content. It's not required. If you don't have the latter, you can get it Blam's EA Store here.

1. Koffee & Bean “Yes, Chef!” Kitchen Playset - §615 - I loved this kitchen set by @bethisims. It's not big and bulky so perfect for bedrooms and good polycount as well. I've always wanted a functional play kitchen with an emphasis on the play and not the kitchen. I personally don't really care for the in-game toy oven because it just spawns a lot of burnt muffins and brownies that I don't want my Sims eating anyway.
2. Toy Food (comes with playset or buy separately): 7 toy accessories that toddlers can play with and dogs can chew on (if they swallow it, they will get sick or maybe poop)
Children can "Play as Chef" where they will pretend to cook and bake. They can play alone or ask any Child+ sim to play restaurant with them or a stuffed animal. They will gain marginal cooking skill for this.
Children can also "Play House" pretend to do laundry or play with bubbles in the sink
Toddlers with a stuffed animal in their inventory can play with/torture(?) them in the kitchen.

3. Toy Pot Drum (§40) - works as a drum kids and toddlers can bang on if you have the Toy Store set from the Sims 3 Store. The skilling rate is much lower though.
4-6. Lil' Chef Playtime Appliances - 3 individual toys for toddlers 4. Mixer toy (§75), 5. toaster (§100), 6. blender (§75)
Credits to SixamCC for the mixer and Severinka for the blender, both from Sims 4. The toaster I made from a Sims 4 toy box that I liked. 😭 Custom animations by me.
7. Koffee & Bean Cottage Playhouse - §700
Another "I must make functional" piece by @bethisims!
Interactive playhouse that fits 2 Child sims inside, up to 6 kids can play with
Pretend to run a cafe with the 8. Koffee & Bean Baby Barista Cafe Set (§105) which includes a Toy Coffee Maker + all the deco items you need to open a cafe with your friends. (Note: requires toy fridge (§35) which is sold separately)
Hang out with a friend in playhouse (if my Hang Out mod installed)
Read in playhouse (if book in inventory)
Decorate with flowers (if wildflowers in inventory, adds small gardening)
Water plants (if decorated, gives small gardening)
Add notes in the mailbox (Child+) to send messages to your friends or little one
Play inside (if toy or stuffed animal in inventory; kids/toddlers); joinable interaction
Daydream (improves fun and social)
Draw on chalkboard (separate pieces that need to be placed on the side). Requires chalk (see below)

9. Chalk Bucket - §50
Chalk Art: Kids can draw colorful designs on sidewalks or chalkboards using the sidewalk chalk set. Finished chalk art can be cleaned up or goes away on its own the next time it rains.
Draw anywhere on the ground (if terrain is not dirt or grass or if it's snowing or raining).
Draw a hopscotch court you can actually use

10. Blackboard Wall - §45
Add a fun touch to your child’s bedrooms with these floor to ceiling blackboard walls that children can use to draw on. Requires chalk and will increase painting skill.
Note: this cannot be moved or deleted with drawings on it. You have to erase the board first to move or delete it.

11. Into the Wild Cruiser Jeep - §950
For toddlers only
Go for a ride around alone or with a passenger if you have a stuffed animal in your inventory
Requires an open 4x4 space at least. Note: the wheels aren’t animated.

12. Playground Set - §2499 - The second I saw this conversion from Martassimbook I wanted it in my game and wanted to make it functional. Up to 3 Child Sims can use this at the same time. You can place this playground set outdoors or in your kids playroom. Activities will increase the Child Athletic skill.
Credits: @martassimsbookcc for the conversion and Syboulette for the original item. Monkey bar animations are converted from Sims 4, remaining animations by me.
💗This is a simple mod that adds a "buy engagement ring" option to computers in the game. Your sims have the option to "buy" either a 1,2,3,4 or 8 carat ring.
💗After proposing, your sims partner will either have a positive or negative reaction to their new ring that lasts for 2 days.
💗There are 10 different moodlets/reactions your sim's partner can have, ranging from happy to furious.
💗Future versions of this mod will include actual ring objects, but for now your sim will get a "bought engagement ring" moodlet after purchasing, and a notification letting you know that they can now propose to their partner and see their partners reaction to the ring.
💗I'm excited to expand on this mod because in my game, I always subtract money for an engagement ring before proposals just to add more realism. This mod helps the ring "purchase" feel more meaningful.
