just watched the first four episodes of Decayed and Decrepit from Schpood's pov. and um

hey. WHAT THE FUCK. Guys. WHAT. WHAT THE FUCK. WHAT THE SHIT. I fucking went into this KNOWING what would happen and somehow it made it worse???? Because there's SO MUCH foreshadowing. So many times they SAY THINGS in the first 3 episodes that made me go "ohhh, noooo. This is bad, especially when I KNOW what happens" And STILL im fucked up??? Still this is maybe the most distressed I have ever been over like, any show??? What the fuck??? 4C, Spidey, Schpood?? WHAT THE FUCK??? 10/10 would recommend

While not realising that Fig's own teacher has been personally training and pushing her to become a paladin so she can worship HIM as HIS CHAMPION when he ascends to become the god of war.

The mother-daughter parallels make me insane.

I just saw someone asking Emily to "try" because they assumed Fig's identity crisis is based on Emily not wanting to play anymore and I will NOT stand for this, therefore I must dump all my Fig Faeth related thoughts in the following:

In the words of Brennan Lee Mulligan, this is CHARACTER ASSASSINATION. Emily said she wanted to retire Fig to "give her her happy ending" NOT because she didn't want to do Junior Year.

Fig's identity issues have been a core facet of her character since DAY ONE. After finally learning that it's okay to be herself in Sophomore Year, she's now realising that she doesn't actually know who she is. A consequence strangling that 13 year old half-elven girl in the midst of familial strife.

Her behaviour is regressing back into the comfort of disguises, not because she wants to be someone else, but because she wants to be someone.

Emily wanted to retire Fig because it is the nature of storytelling that there needs to be stakes. There must be a potential for hurt to come to these characters. Her wish to retire Fig was out of love for the character, and even if that wish was not granted to her, I believe she will deliver a fulfilling arc for Fig.

It's actually surprising to see how Empanada is the one who is setting her expectations low: Not wanting to replace Bobby, wanting to ask Jaiden before calling her mom and putting Jaiden's feelings first.

Then the other parents hear this and it's like their ‼️ CHILD IS SAD ‼️ instincts activate: "Don't worry, she'll love you!" and "You don't need to worry about Jaiden not wanting you as her kid"

It feels so tragically human? It's the way they rush to comfort the child and potentially end up making things worse if Jaiden decides she doesn't want to be her mother.

If Jaiden just wants to log on and have fun with her friends, I'm all for it! (i miss my nightly podcasts) But my ass is SEATED for any potential drama coming up 🍿

Thinking about the day where Leo was dressing up with her Spider-Man and Venom outfits when she was with Foolish and Jaiden and they were in a village kinda near Bobby Fields after she showed it to them for the first time and they were playing pretend with her and being like “oh my god Spider-Man venom was just here we need your help” and then she’d run off and change into her venom outfit and they’d say stuff like “oh no venom is here again ahh” and they would play along with her and it was just the sweetest thing ever <3

but then I also remember that Leo then blew herself up as venom and foolish and Jaiden went into panic mode to try and get her up again and then were trying so hard not to laugh whilst keeping up the facade of “can’t believe venom just blew himself up” lmfao MORAL OF THE STORY IS I MISS JAIDEN AND I MISS FOOLISH AND I MISS LEO BEING ABLE TO SPEND TIME WITH HER BESTI BESTI PA FOOLICH AND HER TIA JAIDEN
