Gristlebeat, of warm blood and living tissue 🫀🩸 In the dark of the cavern, it was near silent if not for that steady, rhythmic beating. It came from somewhere deep within the cave, behind lichen crusted rocks, tucked within the atrium of stone. The noise echoed through tunnels that wound deep into the earth like writhing veins, tangled arteries clogged by cobweb and stalactite. Standing at the mouth of the cavern, it felt like you were about to be swallowed whole.
