so funny update about the "happiness will come to you in late march" thing

not quite late march yet but as it turns out what i thought was my flare-up getting even worse was in fact building serotonin toxicity which became full-blown serotonin syndrome after taking zofran to combat the nausea from the aforementioned serotonin toxicity. was in the hospital ~ 2 days 2 nights because i basically couldn't sleep at all for 5 nights in a row. was discharged last wednesday with like half of my medications reduced/eliminated. i had to go from 60 mg cymbalta to 20 and to eventually come off of it entirely. shit has been the most harrowing traumatic ordeal i've ever been through in my life and its still not over bc im having antidepressant withdrawals now.

so yeah i am really hoping for that late march happiness to turn up LMAO

A Stormy Night

Thunderstorms. The small tremble Eddie used to have in his hands during stormy, rainy days before splitting himself in half manifested itself in his taller counterpart as outright anxiety. It was easier to manage during the evening, since Volt was a professional and presented his host persona perfect to a tee and neither power fluctuations nor thunder could shake him. He seemed fine, at least. But when Eddie looked at him – a tight crinkle at the eye, hands shoved in pockets or put elegantly behind his back so the slight shake won’t be visible, – Eddie saw that.

And Eddie would close the Breaker Box early, and he would change and go to bed, waiting for his partner. And Volt would come – his shoulders sloping, coat left hanging on the door to their room, the usual mischievous gleam in his eyes replaced with something vulnerable and almost childish in nature. Mask off. Eddie would shift, making place for him, while thunder boomed outside, leaving goosebumps on Volt’s skin in it’s wake; and he would climb in the bed and put his head on Eddie’s chest, listening to the low hum of his essence. Another rumble. Volt’s hair flickers.

"I don’t want to go out, Eddie…" he whispers, barely audible.

"You won’t." Volt feels Eddie’s deep voice vibrating in his chest. "It’s okay. You’re okay. Sleep."

And he believes him. Volt falls asleep, his long fingers gripping Eddie’s shirt, brows pursed slightly. And Eddie holds him and cradles through his hair until the very morning, until the thunder is gone.

this piece of self-indulgent art is based on my headcanon that volt is scared of thunderstorms (because they can make the light go out! scary!! and i am somewhat scared as well so.) so i decided a little drabble wouldn’t hurt to put the drawing into context.

also i admit that it completely missed me that volt’s hair likely doesn’t shine it the human form that they are in in this art cause both their hair is actually hair and not wires and electricity. but oh well. i just love shiny hair volt lol. and i think he would still be scared as a habit after the realisation too
