Okay, so uh, this post was set up and written out on january nineteenth of 2017, but if i did this right it shouldnt post until june twenty-second of 2017. If youre seeing this im kinda sorry i guess. This is posting because im not around to cancel it. Life got too overwhelming, i didnt know what else to do, yaddah yaddah yaddah. I FINALLY FOUND OUT WHY THIS HAPPENS. You see this all the time when there’s a fight or a scrum and suddenly everyone pairs up with a member of the opposite team and they just sort of …hold each other.

Someone on reddit asked about it. And it turns out there’s a logical-ish reason:

all of the other players pair off with their man to prevent anyone else entering into the fight … so it’s a form of self policing.

[…] The players basically want to prevent 2 on 1, etc. fights and by finding a “hugging” partner so there’s no ganging up on one guy, even on accident. They do it because it’s fair. And it’s kind of cute sometimes.

so now we know! it’s fair…and cute.

Just going to make a real quick post about this:

Hamsters are *not* just some worthless pets that can be kept in tiny inadequate cages, with improper toys and be forgotten about. They are fascinating little creatures that require large habitats to thrive (80x50cm/31.5x20 inches being the absolute minimum size needed), they need large wheels to be able to run with their backs completely straight (about 11 inches for a Syrian hamster and 8 inches for a dwarf), having at least 6 inches of bedding is also strongly recommended as they make tunnel systems and burrow. They can travel several miles a night in the wild, they deserve to be able to run in their wheels comfortably and they deserve large cages so they can explore and enjoy themselves - too small cages actually cause issues that a lot of people think are just “normal hamster behavior”, like climbing and chewing on the bars, biting, being cage aggressive, etc. They are trying to tell you they’re stressed but since people don’t know better it’s said to be just normal, but it isn’t!

so basically

this is *not*!!! okay or suitable for hamsters

neither is this (they are ground animals so adding height is not at all beneficial when it’s so small)

this is a more suitable and actually a very affordable option!

the ikea detolf is pretty affordable, a great size, and very ideal

and here’s a little list of suitable commercial cages

Hamsters are fantastic and deserve proper care. <3

I would love to see people start treating hamsters the way they treat other ‘exotic’ animals: as complex beings that need special specific care, and not like a toy for children that you need to feed and clean up after.

HERE IT IS 5 MONTHS OF WORK AND ITS FINALLY HERE. WHAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR: A GREED AND LING, EMPERORS NEW CLOTHES ARTVID.

My great inactivity has been due to this, i worked on it basically every.single.day. There is so much I could say about this but right now I don’t actually have the words. 60 panels, animation, backgrounds, over 560 files. I tried a lot of new thing with this as I have never used adobe after effects but it was so much fun to learn!

I actually hadn’t heard this song until a few weeks after its release and when I saw the music video, it was as if the stars aligned and I automatically knew what I was going to do. And boy, let me tell you it was SO HARD to keep this on the DL and a secret from everyone. The amount of times i wanted to share wips is more than I can count. Keep an eye out for speedpaints of some of the panels that I did, as I’ll put those out over time. Any questions, comments, interested in my process? Ask away! and I’ll be sure to answer.

little art tip: the position of the ears on a human does a lot to communicate the angle of the head—whether it’s tilted forward or back.

tilted back with the chin forward, the ears are going to look lower down, closer to the mouth; tilted forward with the chin tucked, the ears look higher up & more in line with the eyes.

Sorry I’m not hijacking, but this is a really good tip if people don’t know this. Like it does look really strange at first, but it is more realistic than drawing them in the centre of the side plane of the head. So it looks like this;;;
