Your art is so delicious!! Got any tips for drawing fur?

Thank you!! My biggest tip is to match the fur to the characters personality!

When I imagine a new apprentice, just given their name and ready to take on the world, bursting with excitement, I think of the fur type on the bottom left. Strands everywhere, like exclamation points. For a cat who's more introverted, a heavier look like in the bottom right, like their fur reflects how down in the dumps they are 24/7.

Drawing hair is one of my biggest passions, as you can see on my main (poisonder). Probably the reason I have so many long haired dnd characters and long furred wc ocs.

For drawing fur, I always bunch them in clumps! Every so often you will see a stray strand or so, but majority of the time, they are in bunches of two.

This makes the fur look less disjointed, and also feels more natural to draw. It can also help make fur look less disorienting, as more than two bits a clump can make it seem like too much. You can also use it for different fur types!

I will also always suggest giving your cats bangs or even a little hairdo. Not only does it give them a little personality, it can also hide things you don't want to draw (an eye, the connection between head and neck, even the entire neck). Plus, its cute and i love drawing cats with a little do.
