Started watching the new Bunnicular and now all I can draw are vampire bunnies!! Finally got a new sketch book after filing my old one so hopefully I can start to fill this blog too!!

oH mY GOD

Ive decided Imma document how i feel some days about my gender, I want this to be a record for me to look back and idk soul search or whatever. I cant think of the right word right now. It also helps me sort through how I’m feeling, to put it into words. 

I am /VERY/ new to trans related things, its been about a year since i found out there was such thing as being ‘transgendered’ and about.. 4 months since I’ve adopted the title for myself. 

So join me on my ‘how the hell am I feeling and whats up with this body of mine’ adventure where I will deal with transphobic parents and crippling self doubt. Feel free to chat and maybe we can help one another on this hard journey. 

ONWARDS TO WHY I STARTED TYPING. 

Tried on dudes pants today for the first time to confirm what I knew deep in my cold dark heart - I am too small. (and its by one size too do you know how frustrating that is?) I would simply eat more to put on weight but im actually terrified of getting bigger so / watcha gon doooo???????? 

Other than that today was pretty good! Sometimes i even managed not to use my high SO VERY HIGH ‘im scared of social situations’ default smol girl voice and used something more..neutral - I dont sound manly at all but WHATEVER. 

I recon if i had a binder I would have been almost passing which is awesome, but lookin in the mirror im not crazy upset about it. I look super androgynous and thats a-okay with me despite the crazy chest disphoria i was having today. 

Yay for being relatively comfortable in my skin today!!

It’s also on KissAnime for free which is a website I recommend 1000 times more since they provide HQ anime without having to pay anything, and they have a wider selection than Crunchyroll

I watched the first episode. I can’t vouch for the rest of it but the first episode made my heart swell a bit. A lot of it is about finding those people that you can make your guides and role models, and that’s not something I feel like we get to see a lot, we see the kids just left to forge through on their own in the big and scary. The anime seems to grab just a slice of the full manga’s story (obviously) but despite Horou Musuko being one of my favorite manga of all time, I never did finish the anime.  I didn’t think it was all that interesting an adaptation, and it’s so good as a comic.

The Horou Musuko manga is not only good, it’s really important.  It follow a transgendered girl and a transgendered boy and it follows them encountering and stuggling with:

dysphoria

trans* objectification

the intersection of gender identity and sexuality

passing

puberty

what adult life will be like as a trans person

experimenting with (“trying on”) gender signifiers

evolving identities

binary questioning

being a partner to a trans person

All while mired in Japanese society and expectations.

Luckily for EVERYONE, Fantagraphics press is translating and publishing the comic is BEAUTIFUL hardbound volumes.

But if you don’t have the money, I know you can easily find scanlations online, which are translated all the way to the end (Fantagraphics is about half way.)
