I hate all the arguments against steve/nancy bc they dont make sense. Idk why fans cant just say they arent a fan of the storyline and move on instead of trying to lie abt their characters and the past 3 seasons.

exactleee i’m a big believer in like “as the canon happens it’s who the characters are” like you can’t say smth is OOC when like.. the original writers wrote it lol

i think smth that is WIDELY overlooked is that nancy has a cruel streak to her? she’s prone to being selfish, stubborn, & a tad self-absorbed—those traits are present in the way she gets w/ jonathan, & it is a large crux of their fights after they get together. she didn’t get niceified by dating The Good Guy (male projection avatar) and it makes sense that it wouldn’t shake out in the long term, IMO

i’m mostly on twitter nowadays so i see a mix of opinions w/ a lean towards stancy backlash, & i’m not super surprised bc i think most GA’s 1) prefer “underdog guy gets the girl” stories 2) prefer seeing steve in his new role as Thee Caretaker instead of a romantic threat

and like, i’m not one to police someone’s shipping preferences!! that’s fine!! but i don’t agree with takes that “they’ve moved on / they’re different people now” like people get back together with their ex’s all the time LOL
