An arrow can be shot only by pulling it backward. So when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that it’s going to launch you into something great. So just take a deep breath and keep aiming.

Went for a run last night and didn’t have to stop at all! Was pretty chuffed with myself.
You know the real reason why I want to get fit now? Not because I need to be healthy now. I’m a student. I can be as unhealthy as I want (within reason). I have someone who loves me and as long as I don’t change physically too much, I’m pretty sure he’ll still find me attractive. It’s because it takes me ages to finally get round to doing something I want to do. If I start slimming now, I don’t have to worry in the future about fitting into my wedding dress or setting an example to my children by eating healthy and staying active. If I start now, by the time that all happens hopefully I will be fit and healthy. There’s no rush. I can enjoy my time being a lazy slob while it’s still acceptable while also keeping an eye on my weight for the future.

I’ve been really struggling with motivation recently. I’m tired a lot of the time which has lead to a very lethargic, almost depressive me. I know working out and eating right will help me feel better but I’m so wiped by day 3 I end up burning out and then I lose motivation. I wish I wasn’t feeling so down. But I’m constantly trying to keep pushing
I feel like this so often. Mainly the reason I keep putting weight back on and not sticking to exercise, I'm just too tired (despite getting enough sleep). I do try.
I wish I could say that this was a progress shot but, it isn’t. The first picture was taken during my first year of uni (1 1/2 years ago) and the second was taken on holiday a few weeks ago. My mindset changed at the point of the first picture and I became more confident with my body, not only because I had lost weight but because I developed a “fuck what they think” attitude and I was happy. However, I didn’t keep working on my diet and exercise as much and I began slowly putting on the weight and my fitness dropped hugely. My knees started hurting again after I had stopped going running and I began feeling sluggish and down more often. I would give anything to look like that again and to be able to run like I used to. I guess what I’m saying is that it’s great to be happy but don’t let it compromise your health.
I guess this picture was the kick I needed to get back into my fitness routine and tone up again. I’m excited to be (sorta) fit again. Don’t get me wrong, I love my curves and I am a lot more confident than I used to be. I just also love being able to walk up the stairs without pain or discomfort.
I think freckles, stretch marks, tattoos, bruises, birthmarks and scars are probably the coolest thing, you started with almost a blank canvas and look at you now, all this evidence that you’ve lived and the sun has shone on you and you’ve grown and maybe tripped up a few times and liked an image so much you made it a permanent part of you!! beautiful!!!
We did it!! It was amazing!!
Gym Do’s and Don’ts
Do: bring your on lock, plus a pair of flip-flops if you play to shower.
Don’t: freak over a little nudity in the locker room. You can always change in a shower or a bathroom stall if you feel uncomfortable.
Do: use the antibacterial wipes you’ll find near the equipment to clean handlebars and seats.
Do: ask questions. Employees are happy to help you get set up. Or feel free to ask a trainer or someone you feel comfortable approaching just be respectful if they have headphones on don’t bother them cause they are in the zone.
Don’t: use your phone for more than music. Nobody wants to wait for you to get off the equipment because your too busy on your phone.
I finally bought a pair of Nike Pro shorts, as a treat, as motivation to run more and also as a goal to be able to wear them and look fabulous.
I found a local route and ran it with my mum today to start training for the Cancer Research Muddy 5K. It was around 3.2 km and I’m pretty happy with how I did considering I had pains all over my body :)
