- i'll tell you this right now, saiki hates dancing. to him it's almost unnecessary. what's the use of wasting energy only to obtain nothing at all?
- at least that's what he thought. until he met you.
- you moved in a way that captivated, mesmerized, and fascinated him. he'd observe the way your hands would glide in the air and feet would leap into the sky in childlike awe. he never quite knew that humans could move like that
- but what affected him most was your smile. the smile that remained on your face after hours upon hours of rigorous practice, with sweat on your forehead and hair in your face. you smiled still, and joy radiated from your dance.
- he never knew how it got from there to here.
- you were a very active person. you danced when you felt like it, whether that was while brushing your teeth in the morning, or while waiting in line for coffee
- and god how he loved it when you danced. to others you may have appeared a bit eccentric, but he heard the music in your head, and he watched you tap your feet to the beat
- you never dragged him into it in public because you knew he didn't like the attention, but at home, he's all yours
- saiki almost never saw it coming, becomes dance is like a reflex to you. you don't think about it
- like, while casually helping him get up from the floor, or handing him a snack, you gently lift him up and twirl him around. he catches on quick, and doesn't stop you. he used to, when it took him off-guard and confused him. but you slowly taught him to just let go and do as he liked, and eventually, he came to enjoy it
- he wasn't a half bad dancer either. he moved slowly, sure, but there was a cautious grace to his movements, especially when he danced with you
- he loved watching you laugh while dancing, whether it was with him or at him. to see you smile, he'd trip and fall a million more times
- you even caught him enjoying it, a few times. mostly he'd dance just to amuse you, but sometimes, just sometimes- you saw a tiny smile peek through by itself.
