There’s a new litter of coyote pups hanging out in the Graceland cemetery in Chicago. They are learning how to coyote.
Sound on!
Not only was I the only one who ended up getting a ticket for my particular screening of the Backrooms... but also, besides the concessions staff, the entire theater was completely empty
I think I may have had the most appropriate viewing experience possible
HEAD CANON TIME (for humanized bonkles of course)
Nobody asked, but I was thinking the other day of how showing age works in the Bionicle universe. And I guess this could work in the actual universe too in some ways?
And maybe someone already thought about this, but eh here goes.
So I imagine every species a part of the Mata Nui/Aqua Magna world has an internal repair system that has a great amount of energy that lasts for a LONG long time. Basically akin to our immune system but more efficient. It immediately gets to work when the entity takes damage of some kind, a wound, a scrape, a sickness, anything.
That repair system slowly works to heal the being. It's a bit faster than how we would heal, but it still takes a bit to fully heal the ailment/wound.
But since that supply is finite, it starts to become less and less efficient over tens of thousands of years. So someone as battle hardened as say Helryx starts to show her age much more significantly after taking many hits and scrapes in her lifetime.
I think the same could be applied to the whole Matoran to Toa to Turaga transformation as well. The being is basically changing the structure of their WHOLE body. A Matoran would have more energy to spare than a Toa or Turaga in most cases, so they would look more aged transforming into a Toa. And same goes for a Toa when transforming into a Turaga. That supply of energy is still used to transform their bodies into something different. So now they look more like an elder. (They don't have to look feeble in some cases, but it just depends on how that energy supply was used in their lifetime)
Anyway, I'll get back to drawing xD Hope this was an interesting way to explain age in the Matoran universe~
This transition is straight out of a horror movie

the floating head of wisdom
Please don't fall victim to internet misinformation. There is no floating head. It's a regular horse, it's neck is just hidden due to the position of the camera. I made an image to help you understand the what's actually going on.
Thank you for the clarification
Daily reminder to Americans on this website that American war on Iran is bad because Iranians are getting killed not because you can no longer afford going to the movies in the weekends or refill your car 😒
Y'know what, this reminder also includes non-Americans. Let's watch our words and keep the victims of American aggressions in our heart always
You’re completely correct. Out of my way, able-bodied losers. Fuck you.
Given how often solar eclipse are used to date historical events, I think an international calendar should begin on the day of the first recorded total solar eclipse.
If scientist are right about some Irish petroglyphs, it is currently the year 5365. Christ was born in 3340. The Egyptian middle kingdom period lasted from 1300 to 1558. The Ottoman empire took Constantinople in 4793. Star Wars episode IV was released in 5312.
Proto-writing systems emerged sometime between -40 and 240. The Olmecs emerged in roughly 2140. The Aztec Empire was founded in 4768. The Zhang dynasty began in roughly 1574.

On the one hand this is hilarious.
On the other, I’mma fuckin call you wrong.
Matau might be the only character in Bionicle who actually does know what sex is (asking Nokama about her “urges”)
And Nuju does not fuck. He COULD fuck, if he wanted to. But he doesn’t want
Matau knows what sex is and doesn’t fuck. this is his character in the movies
Allow me to make an argument for Matau based on the "urges" scene in the book:
IMO, this is a Toa who doesn't know what fucking is, but can and will fuck if given even the slightest opportunity.
I can't argue with the "Nuju could fuck if he so chose" point because it's so good. But. I have my suspicions about what those Ko-Metru scholars get up to in those cold knowledge towers when no Vahki are around 👀
Thinking about the Toa Mata now, and can I hit you with this?
@noblegaswitch
I think the majority of the Toa Metru do know what sex is, but don't fuck.
Vakama knows (probably saw it in a vision or something) but doesn't fuck out of shyness (aside from that one time he tried with Roodaka). Nokama knows, but doesn't fuck because she is out of everyone's league. The above about Nuju is correct, he knows what sex is and could fuck if he so chose, but chooses not to because it makes him feel superior. Whenua also knows what sex is because of his extensive zoological studies, but does not fuck because history and animals are more interesting.
Only Onewa and Matau don't know what sex is. Matau tries to fuck anyway, with no success. Onewa does fuck, making him the only Toa Metru to do so, but he still has no idea what sex is.
That chart of the Toa Mata is 100% correct though. I would just like to add Kopaka into the Knows, Fucks quadrant, and Pohatu into the Doesn't Know, Fucks quadrant (They fuck each other)
In the light of all the varian talk lately, my take is that they should let norik break the toa code and take out the shadowed one. You know, as a treat
I personally think Lariska should kill him given a LOT of factors, but also I want her to be happy and free of plot drama shit post-canon so either work,
I honestly have it canon in my lore that the moment Varian awakes she goes off and uses her powers to make TSO brain dead then stomps his head in. It's what she deserves.
Oh he absolutely deserves to get blasted by Varian, but it won’t necessarily be as kind as a quick brain death.
Psionic attacks can have unpredictable effects, you see.
And Varian is horribly traumatised, and by this point she has probably met others who have been affected by TSO and that trauma has only been compounded.
When the blast hits him, it’s the force of Norik and Mimic’s despair and grief at losing their friends, Lariska’s pain of being mutilated by him, Mimic’s companion’s fear and loneliness at being held prisoner for so long, and the pain of countless others.
And it does something to the Shadowed One that he would consider worse than death.
He develops compassion.
He feels every bit of the pain he has inflicted, and he will never stop feeling it. He will beg for forgiveness for centuries, knowing he will never receive it. He will walk willingly into a prison cell and never try to escape. He is utterly broken, the way his former self delighted in breaking his employees. Thoughts of all the manipulation and mind games he used to love now make him sick to the core of his being.
Nobody will ever care for him the way Norik cared for Varian, or Mimic his companion. No one would mourn him if he vanished.
As Toa Gali once said, sometimes death can be a mercy. Sometimes the worst thing you can do to an enemy.... is let them live.
Oh I absolutely love this take. 10/10 bionicle posting. Ven/10, I might even say.
And just in case anyone doesn't feel satisfied with that end, remember that the second TSO expressed an ounce of pain or remorse, Darkness would rip him in two.
In case you really want him dead.
Darkness arrives in his cell, the one he put himself in, and looks down at him. He's lost much of his muscle, and is now skinny and pathetic.
"I know that you are here to kill me." The shadowed one says, looking at the wall "so just do it already"
"No" utters darkness. The shadowed one jumps up, grabbing the bars of his cell, his eyes glowing
"I gave you an order!" He shouted, tearts running down his face "So just eliminate me! Kill me!" He falls to his knees, letting out sob after sob
"No. And why should I? Because you feel sorry for everything you did to every single dark hunter? No. You deserve this more than death" darkness said, walking away, leaving the Shadowed one to wallow
