So the story idea I had for these guys is a story that would mainly be told through Z’s POV.
Basically while trying to fix the ship, J accidentally discovered she could rebuild some of the lost Disassembly Drones and does just that- eventually creating a small but powerful community of Disassembly Drones.
One of these drones was T, who eventually becomes J’s right-hand drone and closest thing she had to a genuine friend since V and Tessa. T would be my fan variation of this drone!
T is the mother of Z (They/Him) and the two had a strong mother-child bond. However, T would lead an attack on the Worker Drones and get killed in the process by N, who was fighting to protect the Worker Drones. T would have been killed in a way where she couldn’t be brought back, The loss greatly effecting J and Z.
J is an antagonist but the idea I had for her was to have her struggling. After the whole incident with Cyn, J feels like she lost a sense of purpose- mainly as since she has nothing to distract her, she can’t stop herself from processing to the death of her old life. Especially the loss of Tessa. Losing V, and possibly N, as friends and seeing them happily living with the Worker Drones hurting her greatly. Though, due to her pride, she refuses to acknowledge these feelings- thus building this community and befriending T as forms of distractions.
We’d see this through her bond with Z as J decides to train Z into a skilled killer and once they grow up- they take their mother’s place as second-in-command. Z develops a desire to get revenge on his mother by killing N, something J does encourages.
However, things change when Z meets Emi- the daughter of N and Uzi. Later on meeting Vix, daughter of Lizzy and V, and Ray, daughter of Thad. This, while meeting other drones from the Outpost 3. This leads them to question the real purpose of the rivalry between the two communities.
Does Z fulfill the purpose they were given since they were a child or do they abandon everything they were taught and find a new path that could benefit everyone they know but betray J in the process? All while Vix, Emi, and Ray struggle with their own issues such as Emi’s inability to defend herself or fight due to her gentle nature and fear of violence. What do these drones want in life and will it clash with the threat lingering in the shadows?
Parts of the story is still in development but I have the basic idea of the story I want to tell with these characters. How I will tell the story- I’m not entirely sure and this would basically just be a side project of sorts.
If this is something that sounds interesting to you. ^^
