I think people should be free to talk about their religious beliefs as if they are definitely real. People shouldn't have to keep mentioning that it's just their personal belief and that their beliefs can't be solidly confirmed. They shouldn't be constantly reminded to have a "reality check" when expressing their beliefs.
Just as long as they're not proselytizing, forcing others to accept their beliefs, and holding non-believers to their belief's standards, it's okay for someone to talk about their gods and beliefs from the perspective of them being real. Also as long as it's not a genuine, clinical delusion that debilitates them or harms others, it's fine. They can treat them as real while still internally knowing that they may not be real to others.
This goes for all religions and spiritual beliefs, by the way. Not just Christianity. I'm not saying this to excuse pressure and oppression from evangelicals. I'm not even Christian. This is more in reference to non-Christians who are constantly being told that they need a reality check for believing in things like polytheistic religions, reincarnation, and divination.
I swear to god if I don't stop seeing ✨Quirky #Neurospicy :333 Peepz xDDDDDDDD✨ and Deltarune fans calling their Tumblr communities and Discord servers related to autism, ADHD, and Deltarune "cults", I'm going to go to the data center of the social media site they're using, locate which server is making it possible to run their group, and throw several bricks at it
hi! first of all i love your username, uranus is our favourite planet heheh.
secondly can i ask why your pronouns in desc say she/her, but your pinned says he/him? i assume you forgot to update your bio but idk.
have a great day!
- @godgapple
Hi thank you!! Uranus is my fave planet too. Always loved him ever since I first learned about the planets as a kid (don't mind me using he/him for Uranus, I personify space objects and make OCs out of them. I often refer to the irl planets with gendered pronouns depending on the gender I gave them as characters lmao)
Also I transitioned just a couple of months ago. You're right I just forgot to update my bio lol, I forget bios a lot and just update pinned posts. He/him is correct though 👍
are there any discord servers out there that are focused on greek mythology OCs/fics that are NOT centered on percy jackson or epic the musical or are primarily used for roleplaying
roleplaying is fine but I'm not in the mood of joining a server that's primarily for rp or expects me to rp. i just want a server to vibe in and feel free to talk about my story related to Greek mythology
also no hate towards percy jackson or epic, i just don't feel like joining a fandom-centric server since i wanna join a server where things are more focused on what people create
Yes today is the release of the final episode of TADC and I understand people are hyped about it, but please don't forget that today is also Juneteenth. Take time to show your love and support and to understand the history behind Juneteenth, and spread awareness of it.
"I feel uneasy around trans men because they hate femininity"
I am gently going to tell you that there is a huge difference in "hating femininity" and simply not wanting to express yourself through femininity.
I think we, both adults and minors, need to be more patient and gentle with homophobic and transphobic minors.
Some of them are likely stuck in religious cults that teach them that being gay and trans is sinful, and that they'll be shunned and experience divine punishment if they accept gay and trans people, or actually be gay or trans themselves.
I was in a cult and I can personally tell you, being instantly bullied and receiving multiple callout posts and ostracization at 16 years old for saying some homophobic/transphobic shit did not help me accept the idea of being gay or trans sooner. It just pushed me further into buying the cult's belief that people outside the cult are often inherently evil and out to persecute "true Christians."
No one was patient with me or asked me anything to get me to think critically. I was immediately judged as a horrible person and bullied by several adults. That's very damaging and counterproductive to helping a minor who is in a cult. If people just gently asked why I said what I did and kindly gave me new perspectives and counterevidence of those beliefs, that would have helped me question the cult sooner.
This pride month, please be kind to any minors who seem oblivious, insensitive, or unaccepting towards LGBTQ+. You don't know what they're being told by family and other adults around them. You don't know what consequences they'll deal with if they support LGBTQ+ right now. They can't just snap out of homophobia and transphobia, and attacking them for not accepting the LGBTQ+ community is not gonna make them let go of it sooner.
Positive POMO Affirmations (tailored to me specifically but maybe someone will appreciate them)
Nothing of value was lost by leaving the organization.
The organization lost me, I didn't lose them. I am valuable and they can't use me anymore.
My PIMI family and friends think I'll come back begging for them. I will stay strong and make sure they're the ones begging for me when the organization finally collapses.
At the same time, I will continue to be compassionate towards them and be there for them as support, should they genuinely have a change of heart.
Things are always changing. Everyone has potential to change, so not all PIMIs are hopeless.
birthday boy hq flag anon, here's my first finalized pass at it! if anyone else wants to take a go i'm totally chill but it was a lot of fun to make. i scaled up the pixel and put each of the sprinkles over where they are on your pixel ^^

this is so pretty!!! : D
Honestly you should be pretty worried about my coming thousand year reign of darkness.
Most fucked up thing I've heard from JWs around my age (in their 20s) was one guy unironically texting "not too fond of black women" like he was the homophobic dog meme but racist. He said that in the year 2025 too
"average Jehovah's Witness congregation has 3 tr3kki3s" factoid actualy just statistical error. average congregation has 0 tr3kki3s. Tr3kki3s Tennessee, located in the Southeastern US & has over 10,000 tr3kki3s in each congregation, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
Confessions of a Rotten Girl Miku but she's a JW instead of Catholic. You know, for cathartic reasons.
Growing up in a cult only to end up having a fictional crush on D0ughael from C00kie Run K1ngd0m
I think I understand those D1sney fans with religious trauma who grew up to crush on Fr0ll0 now
Genuinely no one in the local Kingdom Hall here is my friend. Everyone acts like I don't exist and they only talk to me when I go to the Kingdom Hall. The few friends I did have stopped talking to me after they moved away. Or if they stayed in this congregation, they stopped talking to me after COVID lockdown. Everyone in the congregation is allergic to texting and calling and social media as tools to maintain friendships.
My pimi family treats me like garbage and verbally and financially abuses me every day. So between them and the JWs at the local Kingdom Hall, I genuinely feel like I have nothing to lose here once I get shunned.
That's relieving tbh because I was scared to leave earlier because I felt so dependent on my family and the congregation. But they've repeatedly failed to love me and help me, so they've just proved that they're not good to hang onto and there would be no loneliness and isolation inflicted on me if I left. Can't become lonely and isolated if I already am lmao
Good news tho I'm leaving my home tonight and officially leaving JWs :) Officially going pomo tonight
There's gonna be a pride festival later this month in the town I'm moving to so I'm hoping I can make it there and get a kickstart in making friends with people there
