Has anyone had to call Partner Resources on another partner because their manager was unwilling to help?

I’m BAAAACCCCKKK!
and I still hate my job!
Quick summery, have a new manager. He is a COMPLETE dumb ass. I may have mentioned him before I went on my hiatus but I felt like I couldn't keep ranting about the same shit over and over.
What feels like 6 months later, He still can't do the schedule correctly, can’t bar, and can barely handle the oven. So yay!
Ok so I have this usual customer who comes threw the drive threw says "hi it's j**die I'll have my usual" if you tell her " sorry no one here knows your usual" she will literally flip her shit. be a nasty bitch and talk in clipped mean tone. I don't like her for this reason. I know it now so she's nicer. But still, don't be an ass. Yah know?
LOL I used to have a customer come through the line when I started He said the same thing “Hi My name is Jim and I come here everyday.” My first response was “Uhhh okay, cool. well I still need your order.” he would then say his order so fast and so I would get frustrated. To this day I DONT know his order, but I look for a veteran (or more veteran than me) and ask them to do it because it pissed me off so bad.
There is this customer who, since before I started working at my store, keeps his tall coffee cup and brings it in day after day for a refill. Not only that but no matter the size of the growing line behind him, he will stand at the register and spread his creepy until the person just walks away. I have no idea how to change any of this without disregarding SB expectations. While I was mopping, he even stopped and told me he was just going to keep staring at me.
I would get your district manager involved. When I had a problem like that I simply put it that I didnt feel safe. ESPECIALLY if he is saying he was going to continue staring at you! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! Hell no. He better look the other way before my hand makes him.
At my store we have a couple who comes in every day and orders two venti no whip dome lid mocha frapps. Not necessarily a hard order but when it's busy and there's a line of drinks we typically forget the dome lid. Which, I think is fair because when you're making 20 drinks you kind of go on autopilot. However the one day I put a flat lid on the drinks and handed them out and the wife proceeded to yell and scream at me saying how I was stupid and needed to learn how to do my job properly, then made me REMAKE her otherwise fine drinks and give them to her, with a refund. My shift just refunded her and let her leave. To this day I hate her and every time she comes in she speaks to me in an incredibly condescending manner.
Shoutout to all the baristas working at convention center Starbucks. Y'all are the true conference heroes!
So in San Antonio, if the Spurs win the championship then they ride through the RiverCenter mall. I ended up getting signed up for it without knowing what day it was. The lines were out the door and I've never seen so many god damn frappuccinos. Convention center and mall baristas are true MVP’s
I may have encountered the worst woman I have met so far in my life.
Today a woman wearing expensive active wear, designer sunglasses, fake tits and a perfect body walked into our store. I took her order for a Tall, Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino, 2% milk, one scoop of Java Chips and no Mocha drizzle. I wrote the order on the cup but here is where it started getting dodgy: She said the order kinda fast, and when I asked her to repeat it, she looked at me like I was stupid, as if I should have gotten it all the first time, she stared at me writing the directions down and then gave me her name. I put down the cup and went on my way, passing off drinks through the drive through and so on, then when her frappucino was done my co worker handed it off. There was Drizzle on the Frappuccino, she proceeded to pick it up haphazardly and ask
"This isn't mine, is it?" With a tone of annoyance in her voice.
I understand being annoyed, so I told my co worker that she had wanted it without drizzle, then she went off:
"I just spent 5 minutes telling her-" she pointed at me, very viciously "how I wanted this $5 drink and I EXPECT it to be done right, I am the customer you should be giving me what I ask for!"
My co worker told her over and over that he was going to make the Frappuccino again, the second time he made it she screamed at him again:
"THAT IS TOO MANY JAVA CHIPS WHY AREN'T YOU LISTENING TO MeE?!!"
I looked over in her direction because she was being so loud and she instantly screamed at me "DON'T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT"
That is when my Shift stepped in and told her that we would make her the drink again, but she continued to try to confront me about "looking at her with a bitchy expression" and about how she shouldn't have employees looking at her or giving her an attitude.
She then went on ranting "I don't have time for your screw ups I have a seven year old daughter and a son with Autism and I am paying $5 for a fucked up drink because you people are incompetent."
After that I did not look at her even once and continued working while she kept on yelling at my shift until she finally left.
Then my Shift told me how she does that every.Single. Time. She. Comes. In.
Especially in Drive thru.
Today a lady came through drive and got a venti vanilla bean frappachino with 20 extra scoops of vanilla bean powder. 20! And then when she got to the window she asked if when she said 20 extra scoops that there would be 24 scoops total. Like....wtf.
"Can you make me a latte? Do you have those? Made with milk or something?" "Sure, I think I can handle that."
OH MY GOD THAT IS THE MOST COMPLICATED DRINK EVER! lol
I had someone order a tai chi latte instead of a chai tea latte and it took a lot of strength to not laugh. They wouldn't pick up their drink until my coworker called it a tai chi latte.
😂😂 I love it when customers are just so wrong you have to laugh. That's like the guy who called extra caramel drizzle "extra drizzy"
Sext: I have mocha on my tit
Customers at Starbucks:
"Oh I wanted that iced"
*looks at already made drink* “I wanted that extra hot”
"Three and a half ice cubes"
"Grande,Decaf, single shot, 4 pumps, etc…….extra hot"
"Venti, 190 degrees, no foam, no whip"
"Extra extra extra Caramel drizzle"
*Sees line up of drinks on cue and busy barista on bar* “Can I have an ice water”
Baristas Everywhere:
Y’all I was in the backroom at work when I heard what sounded like a small scream so I ran up front and my coworker is standing by the coffee brewer and there’s coffee spilling over everything and onto the floor he turned to look at me with wild eyes and whispered, “I made a mistaaaake,” then...
JUST AN FYI
Please tell your barista what size before you yell your entire order at him/her/they. We can’t write it down unless we know what size your getting. -a barista that really doesn’t know what size you want
How passionately do you take your job?
Thanks for asking me a question :D
My job? I’m a barista at Starbucks and I love it. I like to think that I am a hard worker, and communication with people is key.
Now, since I work at a drive thru location, your taking away the thing I love most—COMMUNICATION WITH OTHER PEOPLE.
I’m just a coffee robot all day whenever I’m in drive-thru and everyone’s negativity just sticks to me and I carry it around with me even after work. Due to the high volume of stress, it’s affecting my mental health and I will be leaving the company soon.
So, it’s a love/hate thing. I love my job, hate the store Im at.
Is it just me or are shitty customers EXTRA shitty around the holidays??
An obviously non-english speaker ordered a chocolate croissant after trying to understand what she was pointing at in the case. (And I was about 98% sure she wanted that, I could hear her saying "chocolate"). I heat it up for her and while its in the oven I call out a ham breakfast sandwich for the customer before her. Few minutes later previous customer asks where the sandwich is. Turns out the lady had taken it instead of the chocolate, and I could see her eating the sandwhich in the corner.
I don't really even know how I feel about this. It obviously sucks because they don't speak English but still they should know they didn't order a sandwich. But who am I to judge
