// Alright. So I had an allergic reaction to my previous meds. I still have the rash, but it’s doing better and I’m on new meds. But right now, it basically calms my brain to the extreme, leaving me exhausted and not able to think clearly. Aka, not being able to write worth shit. I’m hoping in a few days it’ll get better. // I actually planned on being on more this week. But I ended up having an allergic reaction to some meds, so I’ve spent the past three days trying to fix that. Honestly, my body is the worst. It’s what draws me to Eight so much.
“You don’t go into things with a plan, either, we both know it.” Fitz grumbled as he swabbed the cut as delicately as he could. A bit of ash fell onto his thigh and he left it in favor of reaching for a tightly packed roll of gauze, “At least we won’t have t’stitch it considering how bad my stitches look. Y’probably gonna have to show me again if you plan on getting turned into grated cheese on the regular.”
The worst part was he couldn’t even deny that. Instead the Doctor let out another annoyed huff and a slight pout as he looked at Fitz and the other’s work on his arm. “That’s my fault for expecting you to actually pay attention when your hung over. Though I’m not sure if that’s a good enough excuse.” It was the closest he could get to getting back at the cheese grater comment. “And as you said, I don’t actually go into things with a plan, so how could I plan getting hurt?” Honestly, he didn’t have any room to take the upper ground at this point, not when he actually needed the help. As it was, he rather lightheaded from all of this. He wasn’t overly sure how well it would have gone if Fitz hadn’t been here to help him.

“I only love bossing everyone about when I get paid to do it,” Malcolm assured the Doctor hastily, and was right on his heels following him back into the TARDIS. There had been a lot of travelling lately, and when Malcolm stepped back into the ship he wondered very fleetingly whether this was too much. It was the same sort of nattering doubt he felt when he started a new project despite not having slept for the last thirty-six hours, or when he cut a line of coke on his desk, or ordered one double of whisky too many at the pub, pushing him well past closing time.
But just like those thoughts, he pushed this one away and walked up to the console, running his hands along the ledge.
The Doctor couldn’t keep from snickering a little as he turned on his heel just in time to pull open the TARDIS door, trying to act like he didn’t really care that Malcolm followed or not, but despite himself, he couldn’t keep from peeking over his shoulder toward the other, just to make sure. One of these times Malcolm wouldn’t follow him. He had been asking so much of the other lately, whisking him away more than he had before. It was only when the other came to the console did he let out a breath.
“Any requests? I mean, I can’t make any promises, but I can at least try to steer us in the right direction. I owe you that after this whole mess.”

“You need t’stop running yourself into the ground.” Fitz chided as he rubbed the foul smelling antiseptic into the Doctor’s arm, which had been gashed nearly from elbow to wrist. The lanky human had a cross look on his face, smoking cigarette hanging from one corner of his mouth, “You’re not invincible, ya know.”
The Doctor huffed at Fitz, eyes rolling, part due to trying not wince from the antiseptic. Which he was honestly failing at doing, but he liked to think otherwise. “Clearly it didn’t go as planned. I mean, I don’t go into these things hoping to end up like this.” It just happened to be happening a lot lately. It just happened to come with the territory of trying to keep the universe from tearing itself apart he supposed.

“Wh…? Hold on! Aren’t I coming too?” Rushing up the grass to catch up with the Doctor and the blue box, Malcolm set a hand across its door. “This wasn’t supposed to be a… a drop-off, this was just… Earth is where the trouble happened to be, right?”
The Doctor turned to face Malcolm, still walking almost as if he had an actual idea where he was going. Which let be honest, he never really did. “Well, that’s up to you. I thought maybe you would have loved to stick around and boss everyone around like you do so well.” He grinned, giving the other a quick wink. “But you know I’d never say no to the company.”

He raised an eyebrow at her, a hint of a sad sort of smile on his face. “And what would you know of that? You’re far too young to be so gloomy.”
