“Look, I don’t care what your promise to my brother was. I’m not letting you.”
She stands in front of Zaveid to impede his progress, knowing full well that he could walk around her at any time. Sorey had promised her they’d find a way to save Eizen, and she wanted to believe that was true. Even though Sorey had lead them here, back to the mountain… back to where Eizen was.
“I want my brother back. Sorey promised he’d find a way! He promised…”
Her usual stoicism gone, Edna turned her back on Zaveid, body shaking with her silent sobs. “I just want to see him again, Zaveid. I haven’t seen him until he became a dragon! He left me here all alone to go on some journey…”
She sniffled, wiping her eyes. “Please, don’t kill him. Just let him be, Zaveid. Please.”
“You need to come to terms he’s gone Edna. Eizen isn’t coming back, there’s no other way.”
Back at their usual go with her brother yet she just can’t accept it no matter what. What does a guy got to do to get someone to finally understand that? Be more harsh on the reality on things? He’s gone. A dragon now is in his place. Not to console anyone but to kill anything in it’s territory.
Walking carefully to the smaller he hesitated on his next choice in words. They were painful even for him to accept but… That’s the only way he can view it now.
“Eizen is dead Edna. He’s never coming back. All that’s here now is a dragon that stole him for good. And I promised him that I’d kill that beast. For your sake.”
“There has to be!” She's in denial, shaking her head feverently. Edna wants to see Eizen again so badly that she went along with Sorey to find a way to save him. She spins on her heel, closing her parasol and jabbing him with it, her head lowered so she faces the ground. “Zaveid... I don't care. Sorey promised me, gave me hope that I'd see him again. You've never had a sibling, never had to deal with losing someone close to you like Eizen was with me!”
She just wants to see him again. As his seraph self, not a dragon. Tears drop to the ground, Edna's shoulders shaking as she knows Zaveid's right, that Eizen is dead, but refuses to accept it. Her parasol drops to the ground, and so does she. Her hands cover her face, and she cries.
“Eizen...!” Her cries used to make him come running, but he hadn't for many years. “Big brother... Why did he have to become a dragon? Why?!”
