BODY COMES TO SETTLE INTO BED. the feeling of his arm brushing against her as the blanket is drawn over form. head sinks into her pillow , body relaxing itself until bella felt edward begin to inch away from her as if he might be considering leaving her until the morning. a sudden spike of anxiety rises in chest , hand delving outside of the blanket to grasp his wrist to which had a stark difference in temperature. ( body gives a shutter ! so long since she touched his skin for more than a few seconds. ) a deep breath is taken to calm her nerves , but bella won’t be fully relaxed until she has his assurance. ❝ stay, ❞ she requested. ❝ stay with me tonight? ❞ now it’s asked more as a question , not demanded but tone could lead to believe otherwise despite it’s quietness. ❝ if i know you’re here then maybe i can get a good nights sleep for once. besides , you could be my alarm clock━i’m bad at oversleeping. ❞ a genuine reason , but not why she wanted him to STAY. these past months had been utter hell for her , mind still stuck in the way it was before && having not accepted he was truly back. her heart worried he may leave again , mind echoing the same concern but as a statement. he can leave her again , he said so himself ! ❝ it’s been so long since . . since . . ❞ voice trailed, eyes glancing away.
he has moved away from her out of necessity . yet she pulls him back in - a magnet he cannot resist . ( as much as he may try ! ) there is no way she could hold him here , strictly speaking . her strength is weak , rippling but nothing compared to his own . if he wanted , he could easily break her hold . physically speaking . mentally was a whole other story , her heart rate is increasing . how he loathes himself for giving her this fear of abandonment . ‘ you’ll be cold . ’ his argument is weak , he’s already moving to her side curling her warm body into him but staying away from her blankets . he doesn’t need them and she would freeze if he were to climb underneath . much as he might want to . ‘ shh bella . ’ he mummers - eyes flashing pain for only a moment before they are glazed over again . ‘ i’ll stay , love . i won’t leave your side . ’ hunting could wait .
